I think Jei would look better in grey(more "evilish")...
You wanna make it evil? Easy! Paint him with glowing yellow paint! The figure will glow in the dark! When I was a kid, I remeber my cousin having a Skeletor doll (the bad guy from the He-Man show) whose face (a skull, in case you don't remember ;) ) would glow in the dark. We used to go into his bedroom, then he would shut the door, turn off the light, take his ultra-evil Skeletor doll and start making creepy sounds, and I would freak out and start yelling at him. Of course, I was 5 years old at the time and a little whimp, but I've grown strong now and I can kick any ultra-evil-looking glow-in-the-dark Skeletor doll's BADWORD now :D (bravery comes from within, I'm like the old plum tree now! ).

However, if you want to make it look really, really, ultra-scary, über-freaky, so-unholy-I-think-I-pooped-my-pants, you should paint him with glowing green paint! Have you ever seen that kind of glowing green putty which was so sticky and gross that it would look like a snot? Almost all of my friends had one (in Spain it was called Blandi-Blup; I don't know about other countries, though), and just the sight of one of those things would make me retch. Even now I can't stand those things (luckily, it was just a fad long gone). Of course, that's the most evil thing I know, but I don't know if it would fit with Jei ;) .

Or you could just paint him pink. I don't know if Jei would look evil but you sure would be for messing up the figure like that ;) .

Ok, now seriously, I would use a dark grey for Jei's fur. I just can't see a brown wolf right. Marengo grey would be fine, perhaps a little lighter. His clothing should be pretty obvious to figure out: black kimono and bone white obi (belt).

However, the right way to go would be using glowing grey! Now that would rule! Supreme 3v1L!! Bwahahaha!! .

Best guess on the release date for the next Usagi Yojimbo miniatures (Usagi mkII, Kitsune, Tomoe)?
I've got 4 sculptors finishing up the last 4 for the year and should have
them end of this month for release early SEPTEMBER estimated. I will be
posting them all at the same time. Then I need to agressively increase sales so that stan and I can do another 12 next year. --- www.discounthobby.com

Lucky you... In place I live there's no way I could buy any figures... (the worst thing is that I hardly can buy Usgi's volumes. Our publishers decided to print them from 7th up... And I'm asking WHY??? *winning*)
As for Jei painting... don't you think that glowing yellow paint should be on his eyes? ^_^

Of course we COULD buy figures here, Qion... but who has so many money? For one figure we'd have to pay as much as for 8 books of Usagi printed here.
Far away from EVERYTHING, darn...
Polish comics publishers are mad. I hate them.

Sales are slow

Post by digulla »

Hello,

For all of you waiting for more miniatures, here is a mail from the people who make them:
All miniatures licensed from Stan Sakai have been released for the 2003 season. Orders have been slow and if any of the fans want to see another 12 new character figures for 2004 we need to sell more product.

They are produced by Dark Ages Miniatures out of Battle Creek Michigan. 30mm high cast in Tin. A painters guide and original artwork figures were based on will be available early next year as a PDF file on our site.

Figures UYM-009 through UYM-013 will only be available directly from DiscountHobby.com or our backup site DragglesTown.com and not sold to to hobby stores. If more figures are produced in 2004 they will all be sold directly through our site as production runs are too low to warrant wholesale rates. We are talking under 100 copies of each for many of the later part numbers. We only have to sell 200 of each directly from our sites to launch more figures.

Thank you for your time
