We attended our first Con (Megacon in Orlando) in March last year and had such a great time we are coming over for San Diego CCI 2009!

We have already booked our 4 day tickets, hotels and hire car as we are making a fortnight of it, staying in Santa Monica before and Disneyland after!

Vacation AND Comics, what could be better! :D
I don't live in hope but a little village near there.

Wow! Now that's what I call vacation planning! 8)

Being it's the 40th Anniversary SDCC, I hope you have enough energy after the con for Disneyland!

BTW, you might want to periodically check these websites for updates, since the California Adventure side of the Disneyland Resort is undergoing a major revamp throughout the summer:

Yeah, I'm ready for the chaos... mind you, I almost messed up because I temporarily forgot America had put its clocks forward and we haven't yet. So instead of it opening here at 5pm as before, it's 4pm instead... so 45 minutes to go!

We usually arrange a day and time for the Dojo members to congregate and have a group photo. Something sorted out closer to the event...

I sent in my contribution to the souvenir book. It is a TMNT/Usagi water color (the book is in color for the first time).

I sent Peter Larid a copy of it. His reaction? "That is just too freakin' cool!"

We'll also use it as the back cover to the comic after the con, so those of you who can't make it to San Diego can see it.

Awesome, I appreciate you doing that so that we can see it. Can't wait!

I received my copy of the Comic-con Magazine yesterday. The cover features part of Sergio's art for the Comic-con 40th anniversary hardcover book. There are also selected pages previewed, one of them is the art I did for the 30th anniversary souvenir book. The magazine even has a photo of me at WonderCon.

The big news is the Artist Alley listing--Peter Laird. There are also a bunch of other Mirage Studios people: Dan Berger, Mike Dooney, Steve Lavigne, Jim Lawson, Steve Murphy, and Eric Talbot.

Thanks to Cynlee for pointing this out in her Live Journal.

One of their newer people is going to be there as well: Tristan Jones, all the way from Australia.

:D

I am soooo stoked for this Convention!

Yes, I met Tristan last year or the year before. He was going on to Mirage Studios after the con. It's nice to see he will be back.

Shall I ask how you found this out Cynlee as there's no current mention on any Mirage employee blog I read so far ;)

Still though, it's tremendous news as you say, and hopefully I might be able to get a commission or two from the guys. And working out what to bring along to have them all sign...

It is in the new Comic-con Magazine (previously known as the Comic-con Progress Report).

You can also check out the listing in Artist Alley yourself on-line:

Ah... Kris was mentioning the magazine tonight when I spoke to her. I guess they don't send it outside the US then!

(unless there is actually one in transit for me and it'll turn up in two weeks time or something)

I guess it never struck me the TMNT guys would be in Artist Alley, I figured they'd have a proper booth or something...
