https://www.usagiyojimbo.com/forum3/index.php
Gaffey, I have redirected that link to go to the New Forum...can you test it (everyone else on this thread test too...thanks!)
It works!!

I'm using Safari and Firefox and they both seem to be ok. It doesn't say Not Secure. However, it said Not Secure for years before your recent update. I just ignored it.

I saved the https link(with the UY logo working) on my safari bookmarks. That synced with my mobile iOS safari browser. The Usagi Yojimbo logo now shows up on my phone safari browser. It was strange.

Thanks for fixing the www.usagiyojimbo.com link to this dojo. Nice to have that working again.

Maka wrote: Tue Jun 15, 2021 6:36 -0700Maichan brought up the point that Stan asked us not to share some SDCC updates here because it hasn’t been announced yet. As we open this up, we don’t necessary know if new people who join the forum will respect Stan wishes. I want to believe people will but I guess we will have to wait and see. Thoughts?
That had crossed my mind as well. I wonder if an old forum will bring in even a fraction of the crowd that the FB group does? I feel like forums tend to be a lot less frequented these days.
I doubt the forum will ever return to being "the" place to hang out, except for us cool people
Unfortunately the popularity of instant "this & that" via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok and who knows what else, has sort of made forums obsolete. I however prefer the format that a forum offers. For me it provides more stability, where I can easily come back to a specific topic or discussion. Maybe I just don't know how to use all the tools available to me on Facebook.

But going back to the people that may or may not join... my opinion is proceed with caution. It only takes one inconsiderate individual to mess things up. Take the leaked storyboards that appeared recently one day on Facebook (You Tube)...

Not to sound selfish, and this may not make me popular, but I say leave Facebook to the masses, and keep the DojoBoard to ourselves. If new members join by chance, fine, but no need to invite everyone. And I still think it would be a good idea to set up a private room for staff, and Stan, to hang out and discuss matters.

Trying to find an old topic on the UsagiYojimbo! FB page is a pain in the butt. If you don't look every day it's so easy to miss something.

Once he does that, I think we can spread the word that the dojo is back. I haven’t heard of any other problems. If have experience any problems, let me know. Excited to be back! Peace, maka
The problem with the email might not be in the forum, but rather email blacklists or something of the sort. It was a problem for quite a while before the more recent problems, and was not restricted to the "Forgot password" email function. A lot of people would register for the forum but would never receive confirmation links which were supposed to be sent by email. Of course, some people did receive their email confirmation links with no problem.

As far as the "forgot password" email function, I tried it on three different accounts I have registered on the forum but only one email address actually received an email from it.
Lawrence fixed the email problem today. I was able to request a forgotten email and the dojo email sent me the link to reset my password. So I think the dojo is no fully functional. If only we could fix Imageshack to restore all our photos that users like me used to post photos here. Oh well, can't win them all.

So I think the dojo is working well now. Thanks again to Lawrence for doing all that work on his own time and dealing with me as his roommate.

I just activated two newly registered member's accounts which were dated June 17th, could have been from before the final email fix.....

Something I noticed.
I receive email notifications for various discussions. They include links to the threads. Some have a URL with http, and others have https ..... why does it happen both ways?

Kyle just let me know the Dojo is back and I am pumped.

Thank you so much Maka and Lawrence for bringing the Dojo back to life. This is far and away the best Usagi community around and an incredibly valuable resource.

I just found out the dojo is back lol!!
I would be periodically checking in at the Dojo Annex at classic comics and it didn't seem alive, no one really posting.
Soooooo happy to see the dojo is back, new and improved!
Only took me 3 months to figure it out, I had no idea lol.

Oh man, I am 4 months late to the party, but how great is it to learn that the dojo forum is back?!
Hi all, I look forward to catching up on reading all the posts since June.
Clicking over on the FB groups and the other forum every week or so just wasn't the same, so I am very happy to have this site bookmarked again for regular reading.
