The Iga Ueno Ninja Festival opened on April 9 and will go on until May 5. Iga, Mie Prefecture in central Japan was one of the two main areas for ninja activities. The other is Koga, which, I believe, is also within that area.
I don't have a specific website for the festival, but if anyone can find one, let me know.

I visited friends in Japan a few years ago and while in Kyoto they asked my roommate and I whether we wanted to visit the Golden Temple or an old ninja hideout. Guess which one we picked? It was so cool, with secret alcove and hidden passages. We were playing ninjas for the rest of the day which provided several opportunities for me to use one of the few Japanese phrases I know, "Baka amerikajin desu."
