TMNT #25

Post by Stan Sakai »

I'll have an Usagi/TMNT pin-up in Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #25.

I don't know when it will be on the stands, though--probably three or four months from now.

Five months... issue #20 has just come out and they are being published once a month now (with the regular issue being bimonthly).

This is Mirage we are talking about...love them dearly, but staying right on schedule is not always the case.
That said, there will be enough of us that get TMNT that can alert everyone when it actually ships. But the print runs are fairly low on TMNT so if you don't want to take a chance on a shop that doesn't carry it consistently or sells out because they only stock 1-2 copies, I'd say get it pre-ordered and held for you. It's also possible Mirage may eventually sell some issues through their site, too.
Another good way to know when it is coming out is to watch the official Mirage TMNT site. Once Dan posts the spoiler preview pages, the issue usually ships within a week or two.

Most likely a single page drawing by Stan featuring Usagi and the Turtles. Not sure why it is called a "pin-up" except that it is a page of art which is not a part of or have any connection with the main story featured in the particular issue of the comic and can be removed from the comic and displayed on a wall. They are still a cool way for guest artists to contribute to someone else's comic.

That was not supposed to be for publication at all. I wrote Peter and Kevin a letter after the TMNT came out. I enclosed that small drawing with it. I was very surprised to see it had been published. I wasn´t upset, but if I had known I would have sent them a better drawing.

Can somebody tell me in which TNMT comics Usagi has actual role in the story? Not just pin-up or cover, but where he is one of characters. Tnx.
