I'll be doing a signing at Atlantis Fantasy World in Santa Cruz, California on Saturday, February 10 from 1-6 (or thereabouts).

UY 100 should have shipped a couple of weeks earlier.

I will probably be doing a presentation at 1:00. This is one of those that I usually do at cons, schools, museums, etc. I basically tell what I do, and how I do it, and answer questions. I do quick drawings on large sheets of paper while I'm talking.

That sounds great! How much time do you anticipate having to sign things after your presentation? I guess I'm asking how busy you expect it to be (I want to know how much stuff to bring!!!)... Thanks again.

Have you ever concidered video recording one of your presentations? I absolutely loved the video Sergio did with Stan Lee, with both the question and answer session and the sketchboard sequence. It sure would be awesome if you had a chance to do something similar to that.

I don't expect to be busy at all. They scheduled my signing for 1-6. I figure I'll be busy for about an hour after the presentation, then I'll do some work while waiting for someone to bring me something to sign. I'll sign whatever you bring, just so long as it's reasonable. A fan once brought over all the Usagi comics and all the Groos to be signed. I think I signed about 50, then called it quits.

I was sitting with Paul Chadwick at a Seattle convention when a fan asked him to sign every card in the Concrete trading card set. Bless his heart, Paul did it without a word of complaint.

Aghhh...I hate when fanboys do that to creators. I usually bring only five to ten books. It should be a rule, but I'm always proud when I see a creator sign the pile he or she is given.

As a rule, Sergio Aragones signs up to 5 things for free. For each thing after that, he asks for a $1 donation to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. He usually has a can on his table.

Of course you could get five signed, leave and then come back later to get the next batch done.

That's true.

If there is a line, I will usually sign a few things, then ask the person to go to the end of the line or return later. I think that is fair to those standing in line.

Aw man! Only a day before I arrive in LA for my holiday! Trust it to be my luck with these things. If we'd have been there a few days I would have talked my family into day out in Santa Cruz.

Stan, you really do need to come to the UK!

Thanks to having to go to work today, it is highly unlikely I will make it the hour north to Santa Cruz for this.
(This is really sore subject for me about the overtime hours of 93 hour work week last week and I'm already over 70 this week before I even work this weekend AGAIN. And so on and on.)
I haven't even been able to get to a comic shop for a month.

I'm sorry you couldn't make to the signing, Kim. It was terrific. The only downer, was that it rained on Saturday, but that did not keep the people at home. I gave my little presentation, then signed for about 4 hours. I brought work with me to do during the slow times, except there were no slow times. There was a constant line. I also brought along Usagi's appearances in the TMNT on DVD, and Atlantis Fantasyworld showed them during my signing.

The food in Santa Cruz was fantastic.

Sensei, is there any chance your presentations can be obtained on DVD?
I've only heard about it yet and what I heard sounded so great, I'd like see it myself and maybe show it to others...
