Usagi Zone

I've got to write an article for the Usagi Zone on the DH website, but have no idea what to write about. I have carte blanche as far as subject matter.

Any suggestions? Is there anything you would like to know about? Working methods? Tools? Characters? Etc.

It is due Friday.

Issues and things to do with Japanese history, culture and events that you would like to weave into Usagi stories but haven't yet, and anything you know you'd never cover in a story for various reasons...?

I'd like to know what books are you using as sources for historical and cultural matters. Yesterday, while working in my local library I read some parts of Georges Sansom's History of Japan. It's a classic now (first published in 1958), an impressive general survey on feudal Japan (more than 1,000 pages, set in small type) and I wondered if you regularly used it.

I'd be very curious to know how your relationship to Usagi has changed over the years. He's a very different character than he was when he started, and I wonder how much of that corresponds to changes you've encountered in your own life.

Perhaps it's too personal a question, but I'd absolutely love to hear your thoughts on it.

I'd say just a small teaser about what's in store for Usagi and Co. in the upcoming story arc. Not enough to give everything away - just a little tidbit that'll drive us bonkers for the next several months, while you sit back in your chair and smile as you watch us writhe and squirm.

All great suggestions, but I really love the idea Shaxper suggested. You have been drawing and writing Usagi stories for over twenty years. That is a enough time to have watched your family and friends all grow older and watch the world change in many ways. It would be fascinating to hear how twenty plus years of life have effected Usagi and how Usagi has influenced those same twenty plus years of your life. It sounds better the way Shaxper wrote it.

Thank you for your suggestions, but with the deadline tomorrow, I've got to do something that doesn't require much time or much thought. I'm doing a "Day in the life" article. Basically, how I divvy up my typical work day. However, there are not "typical days" around here.

I will leave out the more mundane stuff, like washing a load of whites. I will leave in what I'm making for dinner, though.
