San Diego--What to bring

It is still a bit early to start this thread, but I have already been receiving inquiries about commissions, art, and HCs for San Diego. So...what would you like me to bring to San Diego for you to pick up? Is there a particular book you need or a Fantagraphics issue to complete your run on UY? How about a special commission, say of Tomoe cosplaying as Ah, My Goddess? How about the original oil painting of the cover of UY Book 5 (I'm thinking of bringing that down this year). Even a copy of Albedo #2 signed and with a sketch.

You can either post your wants in this thread, or send me a PM.

However, I will not reserve original comic book cover art, due to the amount of requests I have already gotten. I think it only fair to offer them on a first-come-first-served basis.

O.O!!!!

*goes to PM Stan regarding price*

I'd be glad to purchase issues 1, 2 and 3 of Usagi's Mirage run if you have them-- as well as the three sketchbooks I requested in PM.

And if you have any Usagi/Leo or Usagi/Turtle stuff lying around gathering dust, I might be interested in a piece or two...

OOOH! And I'll pm you again regarding what you'd want for a commission of Leo and Usagi. Nothing fancy-- maybe (borrowing from the show) where Leo and Usagi are dressed like Neko Ninja (I LOVED when Usagi was mortified at the situation...)

*hits submit a third time*

Stan is there all four days. He has his own booth/display where he sells his works and does his signings, so pretty much every day you'll have a chance.

:D

Um.. you do realize that Comic-Con is only selling admittance over the internet, right? And that Saturday is sold out? They're not selling memberships at the door.

Thursday, Friday, and Sunday are still open-- hurry!

Welcome to the forum, pontius!

I hope you are aware that SDCC really is crowded, so it might not be the best place to drag neither your wife (she should be a real comic geek  ) nor your infant into....

Anyway, cynlee gave you the most important information already; it might be a good idea to get something like a map of the booths, in order to actually find Sensei in the throng. It's not as if a big red glowing arrow is pointing at it, and the crowd can be a bit disorienting (because of many people being disoriented....)

Afterwards your little family will be ready for a nice treat, I believe.... so keep some cash for that  .

I will be there all four days, at Booth #4906 in Hall G way at the end of the convention center.

There are other neat things to do in San Diego besides Comic-con--Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, Sea World. There used to be a children's museum not far from the Convention Center. I do not know if it is still there.

Make sure you have a hotel room or a place to stay. Rooms tend to get sold out during the con for about a 10 mile radius. The days of popping down to the con on a whim are long gone.

Thanks for the info

Thanks! I use to live in 1985-1986 in Tijuana so I remember the park and Yes I'm planning to go to the Zoo. What I really like to purchase is something that I can hang in the computer room at my house or old comics that I don't have. Is a 12 hour drive from El Paso to Juarez, so we are making plans to be there ( if my wife what's to attend the Comicon, she is not a comic geek but she is interested enought to find out what happens there)

So again Thanks for your help and is great to know that he will be there all the 4 days.

Ha ha. You're the one who flew to Paris from Berlin to attend a book signing. You met us in London as well.

 Now, that was a totally different matter: you've come all the way to Europe (halfway around the globe), so is was only appropriate to travel that comparably short distance...

And I did say is was well worth the trouble! :D
