My Face Book
I have had a Face Book account for a few months, mainly to keep in touch with son Matthew who is off at college.
I accept only about 60% of those who send friend requests--mostly people I know, would like to know, post in English, and don't send me those Cityville game requests.
If you have requested friendship and I have not confirmed it, send me a message or PM and I'll click you in. If you don't want to friend me, that is perfectly all right. My life is pretty mundane, and you're not missing anything.

Any chance you might get on Twitter? That's my social networking site of choice. I'd follow you if you were on Twitter (I think you'd only be about the second or third person I follow on Twitter who I've actually met in person).
Is Sergio one of your Facebook friends?

Unfortunately, Shaxper went and added me as an administrater right after setting up the site. Every time I post something there, it goes under the Dojo screen-name. It is also why you will occassionally see the Usagi Dojo exchanging messages or "talking" to itself (as opposed to just adding additional comments to a message).Todd Shogun wrote:The Usagi Dojo is also on Facebook as well. UYD-Daimyo Shaxper runs it and does a great job hunting down Usagi/Stan-related news items all over the web. It's so well done I added a view to it on the UYD homepage.

"Running" is kind of a strong word, more like just posting frequent messages which might be of interest. I can't even really claim to run my own facebook page, it is just there, doing whatever facebook wants it to do (like linking up with my Paypal account without my permission).
I think Shaxper was more interested in something for sharing sketches and photos from conventions and signings, which unfortunately tend to be few and far between. I just throw things up on the wall to remind people that the page is still there.
I am sure he is still around, he posts a message (or reply) every once in a while. I have to admit that it is easier for me to know when he posts something since messages from both of us appear under the same Dojo screen name.

I just received a friend request from "Miyamoto Usagi". Is that someone from the Dojo? His profile and wall did not say much. Like requests from Lucy Ricardo and Samantha Stevens and others, I ignored it but will confirm if it is someone here.
Speaking of Usagi as a "real" character, I just turned in a strip of me interviewing Usagi. I will let you know when it shows up on the DH website. This will probably also see print in Sketchbook 8.

As I wrote on another posting--about the Japan earthquake--I am in Hawaii. I cannot log onto my FB account because I cannot prove who I am. One of the tests is to identify photos of various friends you have. Unfortunately, I do not know most of my friends personally, so keep failing. I guess I will have to wait until I'm back in LA.
I wanted to update and read about the earthquake.

No, it's Facebook. It keeps tabs on the IP addresses where you log in from regularly, and if it spots you are accessing your account from a very unfamiliar IP (which Stan would be if he's in Hawaii) then it poses additional security questions. It's to try and prevent unauthorised access to accounts by other people.

Probably more due to the fact that he is trying to log on from a dfferant computer. Facebook wants him to prove that he is himself. I have never had problems with facebook, but my bank account recognizes if and when I log on from differant computers and will require the security questions to be answered even though I have the password. Being able to recognize your Facebook friends by their photos sounds a little extreme, especially for people who have in excess of 1000 friends.
