Thank you all for this wonderful gift!

Thank you, Steve, for posting this. I wanted to post the entire book somewhere to share with the Dojo members, but did not know where. I wish I had originally put up more photos of my Japan trip on my FB page.

What's in a title?

When I was initially trying to come up with a title for this project, I sent Stan a message through Facebook trying to solicit ideas without giving away what I was after.....
I had a strange thought pop up in my head the other day while reading one of your recent Facebook posts. While puzzling over the distinctions of you being on vacation, on sabattical, on holiday (very European), or being on a business / research trip with perks, I started wondering if you have coined a name (pet or otherwise) for the trip that you are currently undertaking?

Fortunately or unfortunate, Stan never managed to send back a reply to the message.

Later, while brainstorming with Maka over the project, he sent me this message.....
Awesome, Steve,

What a great idea. Count me in.

What was the title of the Charlie Brown tribute story he did with Julie (I haven't picked up the book yet). Maybe a play on that?

"Tokyo Story" is a play off of one of Ozu's most famous films.

Peace, maka
And that led me to start looking at the Peanuts story for a possible cover image, and after running across this image....

....to what became the title.

Of course, "Escapade in Japan" was also the title of a 1957 American film directed by Arthur Lubin and starred Teresa Wright, Cameron Mitchell, Jon Provost and Roger Nakagawa (wiki)

I think Clint Eastwood had a small part in that as well. I remember that movie from when I was a kid because it was the first American film that treated the Japanese with any sort of dignity.

That splash panel--I did Charlie Brown and Akemi in the center, but Julie did all the rest of the art. That was our first collaboration.

That's cool. I didn't know that. Trivia question for a future contest. :). Peace, maka

I know it may be difficult and time consuming.
But do you think you think you can re-upload the pics?
Or is there another way to see them?

I imagine Steve is going to have to rehost quite a lot of photos (Flickr?) because of the new Photobucket third party restrictions

I spent a good chunk of time the other day fixing my photos in the all the (Month) Trivia Prize Pack threads and my original artwork thread. Next is to figure out which threads contain broken links to my others pictures. That may take quite a while. :|
