Comic Monster selling original Usagi art on Ebay

Post by Steve Hubbell »

The convention scavenger has a piece of real original art up for sale on ebay, instead of one of his normal free sketch auctions

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :B:SS:US:1

Image

current bid is $9.99

Skipping all the repetitious stuff in the description, here is what the Comic Leach has to say about this item....
On to the specifics of THIS AUCTION:
YOU'LL GET THE ABOVE PIECE OF ORIGINAL ART BY STAN SAKAI WHICH MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 14 X 11 IN SIZE, HAND-SIGNED BY THE ARTIST AND WOULD LOOK FABULOUS BEHIND GLASS OR A MATTE ON THE WALL OF ANY HOME OR OFFICE!!
and, of course, can't forget his shipping guarantee:
Remember that due to the convention season, I might not be able to post packages each and every saturday but will do my best to get your parcel on its way as soon as possible.
That sure sounds promising.....

Hmm, I'm almost tempted to bid on this...

@Sensei: Dear Sensei, do you have any idea how much that piece was priced originally? I won't mind buying something that guy bought from you (just to get it out of his greedy fingers  ), but not for a lot more than what he paid you.
And, on another note: Was there a specific reason to color Usagi's blade black for that piece, besides the obvious that it really looks cool as a contrast?

Thanks in advance for answering my humble questions.
Greetings from overseas

I have no objection at all to him reselling this, and getting whatever he can for it. I've already been paid for it. I think it was originally priced at about $80 US. But, I've been told a number of times that I tend to underprice my art.

So was the winner anyone here?

EDIT: It's actually the same guy in the UK who won the other watercolour piece on eBay recently alongside the one I got.
