Usagi Yojimbo DojoBoard

I have a copy of Usagi Yojimbo, Book Two, that I bought in 1989. It is in mint condition. I bought it for one reason only: and that is because the contents within the covers are upside down and backwards, a publisher's mistake.

Is this a collector's item? I've never seen this mentioned anywhere else, and just wanted to know if I have something rare and valuable, or rare and a coffee table conversation starter.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is a big collectible market for upside down books. I have a couple myself, as well as a few double covers. These printer/binder mistakes are unusual, but not extremely rare. But then, you'll always be able to find a market for the unusual. A friend of mine has a first edition of Stephen King's Carrie in which the first three chapters are reprinted after the book ends. King signed both title pages for him.

However, there are printer mistakes that are very sought after, such as the legendary upside down plane stamp.

I'm a fan of Valiant Comics, and I can tell you that Magnus: Robot Fighter #57 was initially printed out of sequence. There are more copies of the misprint than of the corrected version, yet the error version is a collectible. Really, it comes down to demand. These things are only collectible when people determine them to be. I'll never understand why errors are collectible, myself.
