Post by CezarJ »

Hello!

As the title says I am looking for this particular TPB to complete my collection of Usagi. I live in Europe/Austria for shipping information. Links to online websites are also appriciated though I have no credit card nor paypal account.

Please ask questions if needed.

Fantagraphics Books has already scheduled it for a new printing. It should be available in a month or so.

Thank you for replies! I still want the old format as 1-3 and 5-7 are old formats.

Then Heritage Source is the way to go. And, if you order it before Saturday, I can sign it with my usual drawing.

The new Fantagraphics edition will reprint the original cover to Book 4--the one of the characters running forward and the dragon in the background. As I wrote in another thread, the covers have been redesigned.

I've sent them an e-mail and they replied allready(Heritage Source)! They have every Usagi but this one :-(. Though it would be really nice to have my first Usagi and favorite Usagi signed (#2) I can't afford to pay for it and then have money for the #4. Seems #4 is out of order everywhere!

I'm still confused about the reprints. The cover will be the one where the characters are running though is the size of the TPB the same as before or does it look like the dark horse ones?

Thank you again for your replies!

That's a very good price for the HC. I've seen it go as high as $200.

Book 4 was the first hard cover published. That is why the Book 1,2 & 3 HCs have "second printings" in their indicia, even though that was the first times they appeared as hard covers.

When Book 4 was scheduled, I asked Kim Thompson if we could produce a hardcover edition of it as well. I even offered to do an original drawing in each one. It took me about 3 weeks to do those 1500 drawings. They sold out immediately.

The softcover of Book 4 is on eBay (original cover):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 80263&rd=1

Looks like a 1st Print too! So far the bid is only $8.

I just checked Amazon.com and saw a HC of UY Book 4 for $289.95!!! Not sure if this is same one you saw, but it's well over $200...

Well you can't beat $8 (actually you might have to if you want it:-)). I'd recommend bidding on it. The seller says it ships to the Americas. Contact him/her to find out if they'll send it to Europe. If you're in Europe you'll expect to pay a premium for shipping on such a rare item anyway. Actually, the SC is not that rare. It's just sold out, but I'm sure more copies will pop up on eBay after a while. As Stan says, the original "running" cover will be replaced with the HC group shot. What's really be cool is if Stan used the original "running" cover for the reprinted Book 4 Hardcover! BTW, Stan if you do a new HC for Book 4, will it contain Return to Adachi Plain??

PS: If they won't ship to Europe, find someone on the UY DojoBoard to help you. Maybe if you have it shipped to them, they can air mail it to you. The shipping is only $2 US.
