UY baseball cap

Hello UY collectors,

I wrote last year (maybe longer) that I lost my UY baseball cap in Hawaii. It, of course, was my favorite baseball cap (I own two others - UCSB Alumni and Kona Hawaii - which I bought for $5 to replace my UY cap). So for the first time ever (at least that I've seen) it's up on eBay:

So I bid on it and them I'm out bid. It's going for $32 + $ s/h = $37. I originally paid about 1/2 of that. I want it badly, but I'm conflicted on materialism vs. UY coolness (that seems to happen a lot). In the end, I'm going to wear it to death and in a couple of years it will be trashed.

The high bidders name seems familiar. Am I bidding against someone here? I don't want to push it up too much if someone here wants it more.

I don't know if there is real point to this post. I guess I'm just thinking out load and trying to justify the cost. Hmmm.

Looks like you're bidding against good buddy Dranatha for the cap. Since he is a big time Usagi fan you'll be hard pressed to beat him out of it! Thanks for posting the links. It's always great to see how much fans are willing to pay for Usagi stuff.

Looks like he is also bidding on Grasscutter HC...but seems someone has out bid him on that one. Incredible seeing the GC HC going for $200+!!! I noticed a Book 4 HC on there that no one has bid on yet... $50 isn't a bad starting bid.

YOUCH!! @_@ I was watching that Book 2 Hard Cover (one of three Hard Covers I don't have) and it soared to OVER 200.00!!! It was only 39.00 last night *faints* And I thought I was an insane fan!

I am bidding on the baseball cap. This is the first time I saw it on ebay also. (I once thought I had bought this cap in an earlier auction only to find that what I bought was the Baseball Cap promo card.

)Sorry you lost yours. Originally this cap had a buy it now price of $30. I would have bought it then but I had to wait for payday and so I placed a bid to block anyone from stealing it away. Good Luck on the auction if I lose it to you I will smile.

I lost the Grasscutter hardcover auction. It went for $320. That's more than I paid for Albedo vol1 NR2! I guess that's fair though Grasscutter hardcover has only 350 copies versus the 2000 of Albedo vol1 NR2. To my mind, Grasscutter is the most collectable of volumes now because Stan has no more copies. Stan still has all of the other volumes for sale which you can pick up at one of his appearances. I am placing my missing orders with him to pick up at San Diego Comic Con.

(Sorry about the promo card. I saw that listed recently, but I had to read it several times to figure out it was a card, not a cap. Those tricky sellers.

At any rate $320 for Grasscutter HC is astonishing. That's probably the highest I have ever seen a UY HC go for. 350 copies makes it a very rare book, so I am not surprised it has gone for more than the Book 4 HC, which is the most abundant of all UY HC's at 1500 copies. $200 for book 2 HC is also pretty amazing, but when you think about it, these are limited edition hardcovers....definitely worth a lot more than the standard edition softcovers and much more of a collector's item due to scarcity.

I noticed the guy selling the HC also liquidated his Albedo 1 and 2's a month or so ago. He's the one whose Albedo NR 1 auction I lost. He's making a killing off Usagi.

Heck I would have traded my extra HC 2 for the most recent two HCs that came out (I have fallen a tad behind since I don't frequent a comic shop and missed SDCC last year).

Maybe I just should sell off my extra book 2 . . .

Or extra Albedo 2 . . .

I'd consider buying your Albedo # 2 cover. That would fetch a lot on eBay I would imagine.

Heck I have an extra HC of 'Shrouded Moon' and I am willing to swap it for one of my missing HC's (I'm missing Books 2, 3 and 6)
