Hello UY collectors,

Here are two more high graded copies of the 1st appearance of UY on eBay. I don't think they will sell for $1000.00 (9.2 + second appearance of UY) and $1500.00 (9.4). Do you?

$999.99:

$1499.99 (but hey, you get free s/h and insurance):

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Peace,

Wow, from the same seller too. And he's charging $500 more for the slightly higher grade copy.. crazy! Wasn't eBay supposed to do away with the buy-it-now feature?

I doubt it will sell for either price. I reason why it has sold on eBay in the past for close to or over $1000 was due to bidding wars. Many people hate losing and will bid up no matter how high.

I doubt 'Buy It Now' will ever vanish Todd, eBay makes too much money from it, and many buyers (and sellers) love it too much.

There are 2 different ways to use BIN, one is to set it that if a single bid is placed the BIN option vanishes the other is that the BIN vanishes when the sellers reserve price is reached.

I have to agree on those prices thou...YOUCH WAY over the top unless you are desparate for a copy. I paid about 50.00 for my Albedo 2 and that was 5-6 years ago.

Yeah, this price is far too high. Not only is it an unreasonably high price, he just comes across as greedy by naming his own price and then setting the book out for sale.

I heard it was a lawsuit or some type of legal action against eBay to get rid of the BIN feature, but I could be mistaken.

I buy and sell regularly on eBay and I haven't heard of this...o_O...wierd. Anyway eBay makes more money from the listing fees on BIN's than on regular auctions. Their is a flat fee for BIN and I THINK an additional fee depending on what the actual BIN price is, I have to double check on that.

Okay I did some searching around and it looks like it was just a lawsuit against eBay infringing on someone else's patent for the BID feature. They were fined $29 mil. I guess they can still use it.
