Hello Todd,
Your VF+ copy of Albedo #1 is on ebay. $4.99 (but it is a reserved price auction). Good luck!

Thanks Maka. I was able to get Albedo #1 from Go. Apparently he learned of my crisis and parted with an extra copy of his.
Opinion sought on thinking about selling collection on eBay

Hello, I've had UY since I picked up on a whim and have the UY first appearance in Albedo, collected for several years. Now it isn't in pristine condition more like a decent copy that I read and kept in bag and board for 20 years.
I guess it's fair to assume that most people are still looking for this issue (Albedo vol1, no2)?
I don't want to scalp anyone for a comic that I really enjoyed but am not sure if it is even worth posting for sale.
In any event just looking for an opinion if it is worth the time or effort.

Understatement. Albedo Vol 1, issue 2 is hot and those fans and spectators who don't have one want it.
Even if the condition isn't good, there were only 2000 made, so you should do okay. A Fine copy went for $120 a month ago or so. If that is price is worth it to you, than you probably will get it.
But if you don't want to go to eBay to auction it, I'd be happy to buy it off your hands.
(of course, probably some of the good folks here have already pm you).
Peace,
maka

Albedo NR 2 in any condition -- as long as the cover and all pages are in tact and complete -- is worth getting for any UY fan. With only 2000 copies, the condition is almost irrelevant. Sure, to comic investors, a higher grade copy would command more $$, I'd be just as happy owning a "VG" copy as owning a Pristine Mint copy... Sounds to me like you just want to help out some Grail-starved UY fans. My advice would be to try and sell it here instead of eBay. eBay attracts more speculators who may try and turn around the issue to try and take advantage of us UY fans. Do a first come first serve offering. A price range of $100-200 is not unreasonable, even though the issue has brought in $1000 (even more once I think) on eBay. My last piece of advice is to sell it to a UY fan who does not already have a copy. Consult Hatamoto Steve Hubbell, who has the official Albedo NR 2 census to determine who may already have a copy.
Drives me crazy...

...to see the two copies up on E-bay in "Slabbed" format (i.e. CCG graded and stored in a unopenable plastic cover). I understand that for some comics are an investment, but "Slabbing" prevents actually reading the comic and that limits its pleasure for me. I want to read Steve Galacci's comments on the inside front page. I want to see the grey-tones which I understand were removed from subsequent reprintings of the story. "Slabbing" is no good for me, and I refuse to pay such a premium to obtain the only issue I'm missing from the run.
Stubborn cuss, ain't I?

I agree somewhat. It's great to be able to actually open up a copy of Albedo NR2, but let's face it, if there are pristine mint copies out there, consideration should be given to preserving them as much as possible. I can see where it might be kinda crazy to slab a Fine cond. copy, but a high grade copy definitely worth it.
