At the time Stan was not selling published pages, this page was in his portfolio for sale with some pin-ups. What he told me about this page was this: The pacing wasn't working out so he redrew the page with eight panels instead of the six. Personally, the reason I liked the page is it reads all by itself. Usagi's relationship with his childhood love is all there. The page is signed by Stan and he included a little Usagi headshot. The page size is 11.5" x 17" on Bristol board.

Gosm wasn't bidding against himself, he put in a maximum bid of $60. The previous high bidder high bid was $30. So eBay automatically places Gosm bid at $35. Then usagaijin bid 50, but since gosm max bid was $60, he is automatically bid at $50. Then usagaijin got serious and bid something at $100 or more. The reserve bid was $100 , so eBay place the bid at $100 (even though gosm max bid was $60).
eBay automatically bids for you whenever someone bid less than your max bid.

Usagigaijin placed one bid which appears to have pushed both of Go's maximum bids to their limits of $55.55 and $60.00 respectively. Both of his bids were in the low thirties, but both listed higher than enochs602, the next highest bidder. Under normal circumstances, only one of his bids should have increased with Usagigaijin's bid. And there was no $50.00 bid made.

Ah the mysteries of eBay bidding...but that page is a beaut, and definitely worth a high price since it is original art, even though that particular page was unused... as Stan doesn't part with his originals, this is as close as it gets. Good luck to the winner. On a side note I wonder how many unused pages Stan has sold...
(I just checked the bid history and only noticed 2 bids from Go...it's obvious he set up a max bid of $60 that countered a bid less than his $55.55 -- possibly $50. Thing is, it doesn't show where he first started anymore... I doubt eBay is recording the exact bidding history. Only thing I can think of is Go's original bid was "transformed" into $55.55 after UsagiGaijin bid higher, but not higher than his $60 max. Once UsagiGaijin bid over Go's max, that became his first bid -- $100 --, revealing Go's defeated max bid at $60. eBay's just not showing everything in between).
Holy Patatos' I was acctually watching that to se how big it would go- funny...but the buyer, I donno why some people want to sell work like that in the first place....
