I would love to add an Albedo #2 to my collection however I can only afford a lower grade issue. Do anyone have a lower grade issue for sale? PM me if you do.

Good luck.

Albedo #2s were plentiful on ebay a few months back, but the supply seems to have completely dried up. Ever since the new Overstreet came out (with a very big section on the increased demand for Albedo #2 right in the front - there was even a picture!), I think the Holy Grail is going to become even harder to find.

Really? I did not know that. But then, I haven't seen a copy of Overstreet for a few years.

The picture is on page 110 with the caption "High grade Albedo Anthropomorphics #2s are bringing mind-boggling prices." Several dealers on this and other pages go on to mention it.

It also appears on page 142 as #6 on the top ten Copper Age books of the year. Overstreet even claims its value has grown by over 40% in a single year. Of course, this is only because Overstreet had it severely undervalued before, but it's still likely to cause a stir.

Can you scan and post it here for us? Be a cool thing to add to the Albedo NR 2 website.

I don't have a scanner, so this is the best I could do with my crummy camera and lack of photography skills.

Wow. I even have two copies of the Miracle Man Gold edition (#1 of the top 10 Copper Age comics). Eclipse Comics had flown in a box of Miracle Man #1 to the San Diego Con. Alan Moore was a guest there, but was going to sign only 100 of the Miracle Man comics. Eclipse asked me to make a small certificate of authenticity, which we signed (me too, even though I had nothing to do with the creation of the comic). In return, I asked for a two copies of the comic.

Eclipse sold the "Gold Editon" for $5. There was also a Blue Edition that was signed by the publishers.

I must admit that the list surprised me in general. I'm amazed Gobbledygook didn't make the #1 spot (just try to find someone selling a copy of #1 for ANY price), as well as the fact that Cerebus #1 didn't even place.

As for Miracleman #1 Gold coming in at the first place position, it might be the comic that Overstreet percieves to be the most valuable, but check out which book places in the #1 spot for % increase ;)

Edit: Whoops. Cerebus is listed in the Bronze Age top ten. My bad!

The Grail for sale...

Who the hell would pay 130 bucks for a Spider Man #1? I'm assuming its the Todd McFarlane book. Fricken varients inflate the true value of the book, which ain't in the triple figures, that's for sure.

Cerebus is holding its value well, I bought it over ten years ago for $350 or something like that. So $700 is comparable with inflation.

I think an article like this can really have an impact on the value of a comic. I bet we'll see a lot more Albedo NR 2's popping up for a lot more money because of this.

Or else we'll see less of them as collectors begin hoarding them away for long term investment potential.

Or maybe we'll see both. Since the new Overstreet came out, there have been very few Albedo 2s on ebay, and (I believe) the few that have emerged all had asking prices that were more than double what we're used to.
