Hi i just wonder how much Usagi Yojimbo cost in United States of America?

Becuse here in Sweden i most order from a Swedish site that takes the books from USA and one book cost like 30 dollar plus the cargo fee that will maybe at 5 dollar. And i most wait like two months before i get them.

So if i order five books that i need i will pay like 155 dollar and i want to know if it is a good price?

Hello,
I've had a little chat with Cosmo about the differing prices for Usagi in Europe, and it seems that here in Germany (not too far away from Sweden, hint, hint) the Usagi issues and TPBs are quite cheap, while our neighbours in France have to bleed a little more; in Sweden you seem to be charged a leg and an arm (you'll laugh about it later... )
For example: the latest book (Glimpses of Death, #20) would cost 17,50 Euro at my local comic shop, which is pretty near to what it's priced in US of A.......(it costs about 15,95 $ there)

So, possible solutions may be:

1) buy your books while taking a trip to Germany (although a nice country, this seems inappropriate...)

2) find a comic shop in Germany and order from them (my very good comic shop is Modern Graphics in Berlin www.modern-graphics.de ,but I don't know their conditions for shipping to Sweden; they should be able to give you better than 30 Euro a book, though....)

or, if anything else does not serve, find a Dojo member in Germany to buy the books for you and bundle them for postal shipping....

The later isn't too hard  (hint, hint)

So, I strongly recommend Modern Graphics; but if that does not help you, I'll do my best to get you equipped..

Greetings from the South

Dear Readers,
Will amazon.com, amazon.fr, Powells or Heritage Source sell to Sweden?
The mailing cost to the usa roughly doubles the price of foreign language UY books.
Best wishes to all!

Any Amazon will ship books, CDs and DVDs worldwide.

But amazon is sometimes very short of stock; so you could be waiting for weeks without reply or TPB.

I've just had a look at the shipping terms of Modern Graphics: they charge between 4,50 and 9,00 Euro for shipping and handling in Europe, with sounds reasonable enough. The prices for the TPBs varies, due to their varying original prices between 14,50 and 18,50 Euro.

So, dear Robin89, even if all your five TPBs should cost 18,50 Euro, the parcel would cost approximately 101,50 Euro....

And before you ask: neither is the owner of Modern Graphics a member of my family, nor do I get any money for advertising

17,50 Euro equals almost 23.00 US Dollars, that is almost 50% higher.

Heritage Source Bookstore has a decent stock of Usagi books, are very friendly and helpful, and will ship internationally.

Heritage Source wrote:Shipping & Handling: DOMESTIC orders ship FREE with a subtotal of $200 or more; otherwise, shipping rate is determined by ship-to zip code and weight. We ship via USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days) unless otherwise requested; Allow 7-10 days for delivery; INTERNATIONAL orders with subtotal in excess of $200.00 receive 30% discount on shipping (Airmail Parcel Post); contact us for specific shipping & handling fees.
And you can even order a 10th Anniversary Usagi Yojimbo Dojo T-shirt from them as well.

On a side note, I just paid approximately $70.00 (US) for Usagi Yojimbo Book 1 and three issues of the Usagi Yojimbo series two (1992) comic from Epix Bokförlag in Sweden.

Book 1 from Epix "looks" like the editions from Fantagraphics and the other foreign publishers, but it contains a somewhat differant selection of stories than the other editions.

@Steve: Now you know just how we bleed for Usagi here in Europe...

Yes, Heritage seems to be the place to go for Usagi orders....
Alas, their methods of billing are a little inconvenient for those without credit cards; :?
Maybe someone should suggest a Paypal account...

Amazon (either one) seems good, but as I stated, they let you order (sometimes pre-order) and you don't get a reply.

Their option to buy a used copy is good enough, but one should take a close look where the seller is and how long he thinks shipping should take; that ranges wildly between 3 days and 4 weeks, even from the same country....

Or you could make friends with a US based dojo member, pay them through paypal, and have the books mailed directly to you.

I have done this for people in the past, so as long as I don't get a flood of dozens of requests I can help you out.
