I found this offer on ebay:

Now from the describtion of how he obtained the piece, I'd say it's original art; the quality of said piece says the same...

What do you say, Sensei? Do you have any idea whether he actually bought it?

Anyway, if the sellers story about Sensei drawing it without pencilling first is true then this is "just" another example of how skilled Sensei is (says someone who has difficulties drawing two lines straight in one go  )

Convention sketch.....

It's a convention sketch. He says it is from 1991, which is probably right. I was not personalizing, dating or indicating the convention on drawings back then.

Is it worth what he is asking? No. You can buy a finished drawing for the price he has set. As I've said, I do not price my art as high as other artists.

I WAS AT THAT SHOW!!!!

And I think I remember Sensei drawing that piece. It was the show I gifted Stan with one of my hand drawn T-shirts that I'd made with Usagi Yojimbo art I'd drawn myself.

That was a great con!

Final price was $132.50.

I wish it were on the standard 11 x 14 and not a backing board. I haven't seen an "old style" black and white Usagi piece in a long time.

I have to admit, I've paid less for Mara's school enrollment gift, which is much more elaborate.
