Usagi Hardcovers

Post by Ronin-K »

I just looked the all the photos from SDCC 2007, and Stan had a huge thing of Hardcovers at his station. Heck, even the super rare DBC hardcover. I feel like shooting myself for not discovering the Rabbit Ronin sooner when I LIVED in San Diego, because I REALLY want some hardcovers. Can anyone tell me where I can get some hardcovers online? So far the only ones I've seen online were Book 5 and Book 21.

The Lone Goat and Kid hardcover (Book 5) offered through Fantagraphics' web-site is NOT a s/n copy, it is actually a second printing edition. I think this is the only hardcover Usagi book to be reprinted.

Amazon has the upcoming Tomoe's Story (Book 22) for a great pre-publication advance order price of $37.77, well worth checking out. They also still have The Mother of Mountains (Book 21) available for $43.76.

Lee's Comics has a copy of Duel at Kitanoji (Book 17) listed for sale for $50 through Amazon currently (about 5 dollars cheaper than the copy I bought from them).

If anyone is interested in a few of the limited edition s/n hardcovers for sale, check out this Amazon Marketplace seller:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/shops/index.ht ... SAHWMEXIFO

He has a 100% positive feedback on ebay, and even more impressive, a 100% positive feedback rating on Amazon.

Space Usagi (#129/500) - $140.00
Usagi Yojimbo: Mother of Mountains (#76/300) - $32.00
Usagi Yojimbo: Glimpses of Death (#232/300) - $40.00
Usagi Yojimbo Duel at Kitanoji (#203/400) - $40.00
Usagi Yojimbo: Brink of Life and Death (#444/500) - $120.00
Usagi Yojimbo: Travels With Jotaro (#149/300) - $75.00 *

*(actually listed under Amazon's listing for the trade paperback)

These are the ones I just placed an order for.....

Usagi Yojimbo: Daisho (#44/500)
Usagi Yojimbo: Shades of Death (#176/500)
Usagi Yojimbo: Demon Mask (#295/400)
Usagi Yojimbo: The Shrouded Moon (#171/400)
Usagi Yojimbo: Grasscutter II (#318/400)

I wish the five books I ordered were as inexpensive as most of these...

Sorry, Amazon won't let me post a link to a specific search results page.

The link above was just to the seller's store-front page. You just needed to enter Usagi in the store's search box and press enter....

They are still there, or at least four of them....

I'm really surprised that the hardcover copy of Usagi Yojimbo: Travels With Jotaro (#149/300) hasn't been snatched up at $75.00 -

As I said before, it is mistakenly listed under Amazon's paperback listing for Travels with Jotaro, but if you click on the price link, it will take you to the new & used listing page where the correct description of the book is listed.

Here's a copy of the Book 1 HC that was on eBay. The auction ended yesterday, the buyer paying $284.98 + $4.50 postage:

Did you sell your copy at San Diego Stan, or is it still available? Just in case anyone here wants a #1 h/c ;)

I did not bring any Book 1s. All I have left are my file copies. The earliest volume I had at my booth were #2s.

This eBay auction was not the record for an UY HC. A copy of Grasscutter went for well more than $300 a while back.

There was also a Book 5 that went for more than $150. I had copies of that at Comic-con for $125. Mine comes with an additional drawing.

Yeah, I've been bidding just till it hurts...
