Another expensive auction time!

Wouldn't be of note except for the dedication and note in the auction text. So I'm now curious, can you remember which Barbara you signed this for Sensei?

I gave it to Barbara Rausch, who passed away in 2001. She was best known for her Katy Keene and Barbie comics. I must have known her for about 20 years.

Arn Saba, who did the comic Neil the Horse, told me a great story about Barb. Arn, who lived in San Francisco, was staying with Barb for a few days after a San Diego Con. He decided to bake a cake as a way to thank her for her hospitality. He preheated the oven, and asked where she kept her flour, eggs, etc. Barb was not what you would call a domestic goddess and did not cook at all. She ran into the kitchen in a panic to turn off the oven. That is where she kept part of her Barbie doll collection!

But who is "Sam Sakai"?

How can that guy possibly get "Sam" from what is clearly "Stan"? Maybe I just know Sensei's signature so well over all these years, but jeez, the guy must be blind.

I still don't understand why someone would sell something addressed to someone else. I think it comepletely violates the purpose of a personalized autograph. Well, I guess some people need the dough.
