I have sold off most of my artwork collection but have these 2 sketches left.

I hate ebay so I figured i would try to post them here.
I am selling them for less then I paid so I hope no one gets upset at the price.
You can e-mail me from that site or post a reply here if you have any questions.
Thank you.

Welcome to the Dojo, merlist;
I'm sorry if I sound overly distrusting, but are these sketches your own creation?
They look a little.... let's say odd if they were Senseis doings...
In case they are indeed someone else's sketches, you should make it more clear in the description.
Again, it is not my intention to make wild accusations or being offensive; just call me a little paranoid...

They are most definitely sketches by Stan Sakai.
Why do they look odd to you?
If you look on this page of this site;
http://usagiyojimbo.com/spaceusagi.html
there is a pic of Usagi very similar to the one I am selling.
But again I am very curious as to why you doubt that they are by him?

Those look like Mr. Sakai's art work to me. Good luck with your sales.
That's nice of you to sell them for less than you paid for them.
Peace, maka

Well, I was missing his seal or signature; Usagis shirt in the first picture does not have the usual dots; the footware looked quite unusual, in the second picture his feet look strangely out of proportion;
But then again, I am far from an expert, especially with Space Usagi;

Needless to say Stan might respond in here just to confirm that they are definitely his work and allay any fears... they look fine to me but Sensei's word would be final

Here is where I bought them from.
http://www.thegremlin.com/comicart2.html
They have 3 or 4 other Usagi pieces like the ones I have.
Wow, I never had I doubt it was his artwork once I saw it.
I never imaged all this doubt about it would arise once I posted here.
I just thought they were great pieces and that i true Usagi fan should have them.
Thanks
Space Usagi

Are these Space Usagi unsigned sketches?

If I remember correctly, they are some of the concept sketches Stan did back when the Space Usagi animated series was being considered.
I think I posted links here on the forum to the original auctions back when they were originally being sold on ebay by Gremlin (located in Massachusett, also where the old Mirage offices were located).

Ah... most likely explains why the layouts looked a little different to me, and no "signature" rabbit head on them. Compared to most art that Sensei does for example.

Those are character designs for the Space Usagi animation. How they got into the marketplace is beyond me. I did not sell any of them.

So these are drawn by you Sensei? Or by someone else working on the Space usagi series?
I seem to remember that you wrote somewhere that others did drawings for this as well, but I could be mistaken.

I believe I at least did the pencil work. They might have been inked by someone else. Certainly the coloring on the others on the site are not mine. They might have been colored by Ryan Brown who was on staff at Mirage at the time.
