Whow, 100 US $ difference between those two books; seems there were a lot of people missing the Fathers and Sons HC; is that book especially rare, I wonder ?

I see they went to two different bidders; have you been one of them, Shamski?

As Steve pointed out, it is not so much a problem of getting the HCs into Poland, it is more of a problem to get them in the first place....

With a limited number of them on the open market (ebay may be a convenient source), the number of books actually for sale is rather low; that being said, the prices for those books that are for sale are pretty high.

The ebay seller merton for example, who offers these HCs, does not sell to Non-US bidders; However, I am sure that someone here in the forum might be able to help you out with this one. (Steve was kind enough to help me with HC # 1)

Usagi HCs have been spotted in the most unusual places: Mayhem ran into HC #22 in a comic shop in Stockholm and bought it, although he already had one that he brought back from his trip to SDCC this year (and a good thing he bought it, he was able to sell it to me when my local comic shop fumbled with my order)...

To summarize: there are many possible ways to buy UY HCs, all of them require some patience and the shifting of money:

1) Ask Sensei to bring them along when he travels somewhere near you and buy it directly from him.
By far the most pleasurable method, you'll meet one of the nicest guys in comics and he'll have the double pleasure of selling his art and meeting a devoted fan.
Everthing has it's "But", this one is no exception: it may take a while for Sensei to come back to Poland (he's been there this year and he'll be busy with next years 25th anniversary), and Sensei does not have all HCs for sale.

2) Ask someone you know to meet Sensei and pick up stuff for you.
This may include members of this forum who boast around how thrilled they are to be meeting Sensei in the near future. Keep in mind to ask Sensei to bring along the desired stuff, so that he may come prepared.

3) Ask your local comic shop to pre-order up coming HCs for you. Most shops will at least try to do so, especially if you provide them with the neccessary information (when and where to look for what comic). This method will give you a chance to buy new releases only, since the HCs usually sell out immediately (they can't be back ordered).
It is at least worth a try, although not the safest method...

4) Look out for HCs on the internet (ebay, Amazon, etc).
I've had some very good experiences with ebay, and some disappointing operations with Amazon. You'll have to be careful, but not more than usuall. A seller I'll have to warn you about, though, is Comics-Now (on Amazon) and his ebay branch Discount-Comics-Now; they seem to advertise for comics they don't have and are thus unable to deliver...(on ebay, they offer 990 copies of HC # 22; impressive, since the print run is only 300 :? )

5) If, for some reason, you've got difficulties with directly buying/bidding UY HC on ebay, you may ask here on the forum for an in-between. This has worked perfectly well for me in both directions...

And, a final hint: check out the list of what others here have and what they still need; Mayhem just needs one copy of HC # 12 to complete his set, so he sure as hell will try to get mertons copy currently for sale on ebay...

You can order a copy of the hardcover edition (s/n) of Mother of Mountains from Amazon.com currently....

http://www.amazon.com/Mother-Mountains- ... 463&sr=8-2

And they claim that Tomoe's Story will be in stock in a week...

http://www.amazon.com/Usagi-Yojimbo-22- ... 563&sr=1-1

Both are cheaper than what is usually on ebay.
