Albedo 2 sells for $31,000

Well a copy of Albedo 2 in CGC 9.8 just sold for 31,000 at ComicLink this evening.

The question is: is this the new standard, or a fluke? Either way, I don't see myself ever owning an Albedo #2. Considering the prices even lower grades are going for, I'd rather put money towards original artwork.

Fluke imo. There are some other items up (such as Turtlemania Gold) going for ludicrous, more than ever sold for before, amounts too.

That's a crazy price. Never thought I'd see the day.
I own an "8.5" Albedo 2, and I think I paid under $500 for it. Can't remember.
But now I have to crack it out of the precious plastic case so I can get Stan to sign it this summer. Oh well.

Ugh...how I hate CGC. It has skewed the value of books and is just so damn arbitrary.
I mean who are these guys? They just appeared like fifteen years ago, declared themselves the true judges of a comic's value and ppl went along! Don't understand it at all.
