I see Pixels! Usagi and Jotaro Sprites.

Post by EmrgnCnam »

Hello. First post. I've decided to draw some video game-style sprites for Usagi Yojimbo. Perhaps to inspire a sequal to the first and so far only Usagi Video game.

ImageImage

Made by drawing a barebones picture, scanning it, then pixellating it in Photoshop, then coloring. I don't pretend to be an expert, but I think it's pretty good for an early try.

Those are excellent, well-drawn sprites. They are more detailed then some I've seen. I especially like the Usagi sprite. Any hopes of animating them? Certainly not bad for a first try.

Thank you, that is very encouraging. As for animating them, I might try sometime, but at this point I'm more interested in doing more Sprites. It's a really fun medium, one pixel can make a world of difference in the whole picture. Look out for more. ^.^

Oh gosh, sprite animation can be a bear. But these are neat^_^ Have you ever tried GraphicsGale? It's a lot easier to use for pixel art than Photoshop. In my opinion anyway.
