Thanks for the sentiment Steve^_^ I hope you have a great new years up there in all the snow! But I'm okay here eating chips and trying very hard to stay awake until midnight. Which is only a difficult thing New Years eve, for some reason. I can't imagine how they manage in Japan - if it's true that the tradition there is to watch the first sunrise of the new year.
I'm kind of surprised to hear they have snow in California. The Northern part, I guess? Or is it that whole "mountain" thing? (something else of which there are none in Florida^^)

I live in LA, are there are ski areas in the San Gabriel Mountains right behind my house. Big Bear ski area is in the San Bernardino Mts a little farther away. When the snow level gets really low, it's only a 45-60 minute drive to the snow line. Drive the other direction for the same amount of time, and you're at the beach. No snow right now, though.
