Usagi and Horse...

At San Diego Con this year, Stan and I talked about why USAGI doesn't ride a horse (He doesn't like how he draws horses -- but I think his horses are fine!) and it sparked the idea for this piece. I made up a little story in my head about a tempermental horse somewhere in USAGI's past.
What's a little mistrust and annoyance between friends? (Or horse and rider?)
I haven't had time to color it, unfortunately.
Didn't know if Diana Schutz was still looking for reader art, but I e-mailed it anyway.
Hope you enjoy.

11"x17". Ink and markers on bristol board.
EDIT: I was asked via private message if I could post a closeup of USAGI and the horse...here it is!)

Man, the great fan-art just keeps coming in...
Fantastic piece of art...
I associate your name so much with fonts and lettering, I tend to forget you are an artist (a very talented artist) as well.

Thanks for the kind words, Steve! I keep my drawing skills sharp by illustrating a weekly fantasy webcomic at RealmOfAtland.com
(A "no-prize" to the person who can tell me what kind of leaves are falling in the pic.)

Ginko leaves.
Now, where's my cookie?
P.S.: Great, as usual. I checked out your webcomic some time ago and it was great, I'm going back to read the strips I'm missing

Very nice, especially the horse. I don't like drawing horses. I hope Diana prints it in an upcoming issue.
Ginko leaves play an important part in the story I'm currently drawing.

Thanks, Stan! Strange coincidence about the Ginko leaves!
I'd be thrilled if she printed it!

I like it!
Nice gestures to the figures.
I hope it gets printed, too.
Having been involved with horses for over 20 years, and ridden and groomed many, I can see when anyone doesn't draw something right.
But, it doesn't mean I can't enjoy the art!
Stan's horses are not that bad!! And they have great attitudes.
But this also could be like some fun UY boards theme where many contribute to the theme.

This is quite an amusing picture. I really like it.
Usagi's expression is truly priceless, as is the horse's.
