Wouldn't the star of Bethlehem be in the west for Usagi, btw?
Greetings from overseas

A perfect Christmas present for everyone at the Dojo, especially for all of us who have been hoping and waiting for something new from you.
Happy Holiday!
It has been far too long, hasn't it? I'm still trying to recover from a really, really, REALLY, bad case of burn-out right now. This is actually the first thing I've drawn in about a month. Still doesn't feel like I'm all back yet. But I missed you guys and wanted to give you something. I'm sorry it's so little, but if it's enjoyed at all, I'm happy^_^

Lol! You know, I had wondered about that. I know the sun rises in the east and sets in the west no matter where you go, but are stars different? I don't really know enough about celestial navigation to say how it works exactly. So since the Good Book only ever refers to it as the "star in the east" I just went with that^_^;

Stars that far away do not "rise" or "set" in the traditional sense that we apply to the Sun, more they move their position in the sky relative to the time of the year. This is because the Earth is orbiting the Sun (and rotating) and hence changing where we are in relation to them.
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...
Thanks Estee! It's always better late than never^_^

That much I do know^_^ It's all very cool! I enjoyed astronomy a lot when I was a kid, but I've forgotten so much of it by now.^^; And even then, it amazed me that people could look up in the sky and find their way across something as big as a desert or ocean.

Can I use the composition for a drawing or a painting sometime?
I-I... really?O_O Of course! I'm honored beyond words that you would even ask, Sensei!!! Do you think maybe though, if you do finish the drawing, that you could post a scan of it somewhere or something? I'd really love to see it^_^ If it's no trouble, I mean. ^^;
Lol! I'm glad you like it^_^ Mr. Sakai did this beautiful painting of Usagi standing outside and his coat and hat were all dusted with snow. I've never actually seen snow before, so I'm not really sure what it does, but the idea of it gathering on a person who became bored of brushing it off after awhile, it just seemed kindda fun. So I used it here too. (I hope you don't mind, Sensei^^; )
Is it too late to invite you up for the New Years holiday?
This afternoon (Friday), I probably had close to that much fresh fallen snow on me after just the few minutes it took me to brush the snow off my car before leaving for work. It was the really cool jumbo size snow flakes coming down this afternoon as well. It looks really beautiful, but unfortunately, it does terrible things to the roads, making them a mess. I even passed one car that obviously couldn't stop as fast as the garbage truck in front of it and rear-ended it. Also obviously, it hurt the car a whole lot more than it did the garbage truck.
Well, Amy is in Florida. I grew up in Hawaii, and had not seen snow until I moved to California in my 20's. I still get a thrill when I experience it, though I would hate to drive or live in it.
