Hello everybody! Was'nt sure about the best place of this opening, if at the beginning or the end of prologue. Anyway, I finally chose the beginning, just for setting some things right.

My name's Nandah (of course, not my real name :P), I'm Spanish, so please sorry for any grammal mistake you find on my writting, I'm doing the best for learn this language, and maybe as sensei Katsuichi itself would say, there's a long way to go yet. About myself; I'm hookied in comicbooks, cinema, animation and other media since my childhood, and I just began to practice drawing and writting some few years ago. I discovered Usagi Yojimbo at the beginning of this month, and not need to say it totally captived me. You'll sure know why, you'd not be here if not, so I won't go on this subject. But yeah, as a modest beginner, I must confess my new passion for Stan Sakai masterpiece.

So... I've begun a crossover. Why? Well, I'm such a crazy guy, I love doing experiments with characters and the way they could work together. For now, I'll show you the prologue, hope you enjoy. And be sure there'll be much more if you do.

PROLOGUE

Destiny usually has unexpectable things in store for all of us. Glory, success, misery, treason, death... The attitude you keep facing up to destiny (or not) is what makes the real difference between a man and another. I know this very well. Destiny has brought all kind of events to my life. Some of them have changed my life forever. Some others are too weird for you to believe... As the one I'm about to tell you.

My name is Miyamoto Usagi. I'm a ronin, a pilgrim samurai with no lord to serve.

Everything began a pale autumn morning. I remember the lake, the vast calm lake, as a mirror giving me back a distort image of myself. Staring at it, I really felt there was not the long-eared ronin the one in front of me, but a little inmature boy, so much excited with the idea of becoming a glorious warrior than paying atention to the advices of his sensei. Behind that reckless boy, there was my old master, Katsuichi, the one who made him working hard, day by day, so he'd learn the way to become a true honorable samurai. At a second, the wind put a little leaf over the water's surface, and the waves distorted the image again. Now, the little impatient pupil had become an adult, the winner of Dogora fencing school's tournament and new servant of lord Mifune. That superb image didn't keep for long, since some clouds covered the sky, proyecting their shadows over it. The shadows became two vast armies, fighting each other, as the honorable servant ran away with his death lord's head over his horse's hindquarters. Only at the moment the clouds left again, the water gave me back a sincere proyection, I knew very well: a wandering vagabond, with no true home but Nippon's land itself.

And was that day, the day I most was thinking over my own condition, when the gods pleased destiny's caprice over me one more time. Suddenly, I saw my image distorted again, but not for new leaves or clouds. It was a strange bubble this time, coming from the deep of the lake. Small at the begin, it grew up until forcing me to grab my sword's handle, just in case, my eyes unable to separate from the dark water.

And then... It appeared.

A giant tentacle suddenly sprouted from the water. The viscous long limb twisted up here and there, grabbing a big sturdy man at the top. The end of that monstrous thing had the form of a three-claw hand or something.

"Tako-oni!" I though. "Octopus demon!"

But that was not the point that caught my whole attention. It was that man, over my head, fighting furiously against the beast's grip. Just looking attentively to him, you could notice he didn't look as a common man. Not just his unnatural leather clothes, but his whole body, painted in an intense blood red tone. Those strange little flat bulges over his forehead, as tree's branches cutted down. That red tail. And, above other things, that massive right hand, as tough as stone, colored in the same blood range than the rest of his body...

And that strange rough war cry...

-OH, CRAP!

That man... Was he a god... or a demon?

That's a pretty nice piece of artwork. I don't think I've ever seen Hellboy with cloven hooves like that.
