-Merry Christmas!- Pencil sketch by Amy

Post by Amy »

Seasons greetings from White Heron Castle.

Lol, I guess I should have asked Santa for a new wacom pen, because mine is officially busted^^;; It was actually nice drawing with a pencil again... but I forgot how terrible a job my scanner does with them.

Well, Merry Christmas and happy New Year! And thanks for the card Steve -- It was super awesome^_^

Thanks Amy,

I hope you get a new wacom pen/pad. You computer art is so wonderful. And your pencils, like this, are wonderful too. Thanks for giving us this little Christmas gift.

Peace, maka

Aww, thanks everyone, thanks Sensei^_^ It has been too long. And it's always humbling to think anyone has thought of me. I'm afraid I was ill all the first half of this year, and have been playing catch-up for the rest of it. I hope this new year will be better! Though there's still so much catch-up to do...

Lol, oh gosh, Maka, I'm glad to say it's only the pen of my tablet that's broken! The pad is fine. Which is good - It's an old Intuous2, and Wacom stopped making their new tablets in the size I use awhile ago. So I'm very happy to have bought mine when I did^^;

I am a bad representant of the Amy's fanclub...

My best thoughts to you Amy.

Thanks for this little pleasure,

Looks like i won't go anymore to Orlando for my job... you'll have to come and visit me in Paris, at least to try another food :wink:

your friend, Fanfan

Ah, hey Fanfan! Good to see you^_^ I'm sorry you won't be making it over again. But you don't seem to have a lot of luck staying well when you are here either. Though I'm not superstitious - maybe it is best that business takes you elsewhere? I can worry a little less over you^^;

Ah yes - I shall have to try some good French food if I'm ever over, just so I can know what it's like! Lol, it would be sad to visit and only eat at the McDonald's over there, huh?

I can vouch for Fanfan as being an excellent travel agent in France. The only time I got lost is when I went off on my own, and forgot where my hotel was.

Really? Lol, I've heard the streets there are a bit confusing, it's good that you did have such a guide with you!

You'd be amazed at the number of times I've run into people in our little town that have been lost trying to find their way to a hotel out at Disney. It's a pretty easy thing to have happen^^;

It was really, really good to have such a good friend like you there when i was in ICU... and to chat after when i was a bit lost...

About Paris, i was mid serious, Michigan wasn't a real trip for you ;) , of course you could enjoy art museum and old places, even if it would be different from Stan's art class in Japan. But better food would really improve your health.

And of course, as noted Stan, I could help you for the visits

The hotel wasn't in an easy place. That is something that happens to people who travel anyway. I remember to have lost our ryokan at night in Hiroshima, a nice person help us to find our way back.

I was glad to have been there for you, Fanfan! I only regret I didn't get your brother's note a few days earlier so I could have perhaps been more comfort to your family. But just so long as it all ended with you well, that's what matters^_^

Lol! Oh gosh -- Michigan! It was such a pretty state with all the apple trees but (no offense Steve) -- It was SO cold there ALL of the time! Even in a sunny May afternoon! Of course, I guess cold for a Florida girl isn't really that cold^^; Maybe in the 50s? I don't know. But we still had to bring all of our winter clothes with us. And I left with this terrible cough that wouldn't go away for almost 3 months after.

I hope to never travel again after that to be honest. As much as I love my brother - he can come here to visit next time.

Geez, I didn't even know you came up here.... :cry:

You are lucky it was May, and not when it is actually cold like now. :D

Then again, I remember a few nights when the temperatures got down to the teens in February when I was living in Ocala back in '85 or '86.

Aww, I'm sorry Steve - I should have thought to say something. We were there for... 2 or 3 days to be at my brother's wedding. I would have loved to have visited, but the trip afforded me no pleasures at all. Except perhaps how pretty apple trees look - and to marvel at the abundance of, what seemed to be Christmas trees, growing everywhere like a common palm...

My brother lives in a rural area -- can you guess^^;

Lol! Oh awesome -- that's right! You did live down here for a bit, didn't you? You know then it DOES get cold here once in awhile! When I was little, it was so cold one night we actually had an icicle on our house the next morning! My sister and I were amazed -- it was so pretty.

Normally though - it rarely gets below the mid 60s during the day. Maybe 15 days out of a year. And almost never consecutively. The cold here is always very dry too. The cold there seemed wet, somehow. Like the summer days do here. It's funny all the little things you notice.
