"Stan Sakai is one of my heroes. A stand-alone creator and prolific storyteller, he has taken the world of Usagi Yojimbo and unceasingly, wonderfully, expanded it over the last 25 years. I have great admiration for the consistency of his artistry and storytelling.
Somewhere along the line, you figure out that great creators are as much writer as they are artist; Stan is a masterful example of balancing the two disciplines.
This is my first attempt at drawing Usagi since I was in like 8th grade. Yes, I was a comic book nerd then, and remain one to this day"
