Mouse Guard by David Petersen

Post by Thomas Froehling »

Finally I could get my hands on Mouse Guard (Fall 1152, to be exact).

Whow, whow whow; This is just great, amazing, fantastic.....(well, insert adjective here)...stuff!

I devoured it while I was on a children play ground with my elder daughter; luckily, she's quite independent and able to look for herself, I would have hardly noticed if she fell off a tree or something  ....
I was so absorbed with the story (Ah, the pictures, the characters, the plot...!), reading it with eyes wide open, enjoying every single page of it.

When I looked up for a second to make sure Mara (my daughter) was still ok, I caught her stalking me with two other girls she met while playing: she had noticed I was reading so intensely that they wanted to go "Boooh!" at me.....
I let them have their fun and inevitably she asked me what it was that I read.
To cut it short: I spent a good hour reading (and translating) Mouse Guard with my daughter and one of her casual friends.
An afternoon well spent, I might add.

Mr. Petersen, now you've got at least two more fans here in Germany; I'll spread the word about your fine work.
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

Have there been any other bound collections of Mouse Guard? Prefferably book-like ones??
Greetings from overseas

I could have sworn we had a Mouse Guard topic or two already around here, but I can't seem to find it now. Anyway....

What you have collects the first series of this title. A new one, Winter, is supposed to start in single issues this year at some point. That probably will not be collected in book form until sometime in 2008.
