Bettie Page 1923-2008

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

It's kind of sad that we ended up losing both Dave Stevens and Bettie Page in the same year:

The NYT mentions Dave Stevens in their article on Bettie Page's passing:

"Then in the late 1980s and early ’90s, she was rediscovered and a Bettie Page renaissance began. David Stevens, creator of the comic-book and later movie character the Rocketeer, immortalized her as the Rocketeer’s girlfriend."

When I first heard the other day (in fact, the same day local radio news announced the passing of Forrest J. Ackerman) that Bettie Page was in the hospital with a heart-attack, I thought at once of Dave S.

I hate mortality.
