Game of Thrones on HBO

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

Did anyone watch the premiere of the new HBO series Game of Thrones last night? I'll have to wait for the DVD since I don't get HBO. I'm not familiar at all with the series of books that it's based on, but it sure seems to be a big deal to some people.

I watched it and fell in love with it. I have never read any of the books so I was not familiar with it at all and wasn't sure what to expect. I saw a trailer for it and was all about it when I saw Sean Bean in it. I don't know about anybody else but I can't think of anyone I would rather see wielding a sword in a fantasy epic. Now this show is on HBO for a reason. It is very graphic with it's violence and nudity. But it was amazing. It has such an amazing cast and is very beautifully shot. I would fully recommend this series to anyone who doesnt mind a little adult content in there sword fantasy's. I have heard it described as Lord of the Rings meets the Sopranos.

Meh.

Nothing we haven't seen before. But it is the first episode.

My big thing...why is there always a group of shirtless barbarians that like killing. Why can't we have some sophisticated maniacs. A society of fops and dandies that go around slaughtering people with wit and aplomb.

Wow, I have been gone a long time.

Considering the show is over now.

I LOVED Game of Thrones. My wife loved it too, and she doesn't usually like that kind of thing. Although now she demands I call her Kalisi.

Kind of late to the party here, but I started watching this show on DVD, and I'm digging it so far (I'm up to the last two episodes of Season 1). I also have a copy of the first book on the way in the mail, I may start reading it sometime soon.

Okay, now my first post may seem like I didn't care for the show.

But now...I'm a fan.

Though this show should be called "The Arya and friends hour", cuz Arya is the best part of the show.

Close seconds:

Brienne
Tyrion

Bronn and Jorah are awesome too.
