hello guys,
recently my attention crossed this project called 'cleanin' up the town-remembering the ghostbusters' which is-like the name suggests- a fan made documentary on the ghostbsusters movies.
you can follow the link I'll leave here to watch the 4 minute trailer of it.It looks QUITE PROMISING I think.
beautiful thing about this project: it is being realized by a pair of siblings, a brother and his sister from the UK have been spending all their time, efforts and finances over the past 8 years to see this feature length documentary through independantly. and now they have run out of funds and startet a kickstarter campaign.
I hope this gets realized, maybe some of you want to support or share this as well?
enjoy

Sounds cool! $36 USD for a digital download, or $73 USD for a Blu-ray copy is a pretty steep price, however. I like Ghostbusters, but I'm not sure I like it quite that much. Good luck to them. I wish them success.

Yes, I thought so too. I am a student and low on cash as it is, but in the end I couldn't help myself with this one.I really wish this one to come true and see the light of day soon;)...if it comes to pass the makersof it have already stated they would like to mass market it with the hype of the new movie, so we all may be able to see it regardless of we can financially support it at this moment.
still hope they reach their goal though...
love the production design!an usagi doc one day done in such high class would be amazing!

Re: great ghostbusters documentary on kickstarter right now
Thank you for posting about this. Ghostbusters was one of my favorite movies back in the early '80's, must have watched it a dozen times way back then. I believe I saw the sequel when it came out. I have not seen the third one (is there a third one?). It is strange how someone's taste in movies seems to change over the years, then again, I don't watch a whole lot of contemporary films anymore.
Kickstarter is such a neat way of raising funds for projects, but the key is to get the information concerning the campaign out there so that the people who might be interested are actually made aware of it. There have been a number of campaigns which I would have loved to have contributed to, if I had heard about them in time. Of course I have managed to help out on a few cool projects.

hey steve!;)
first of all, with eager interest I return each day to see how the docs doing and it doesn't look too good I think...I wholeheartedly agree with you, information on your campaign is really the key! but today I googled for it and found a few articles about this doc from different sources posted in the last couple of days ..it appears they may have agreed with us here;)hahaha
the ghostbusters are something very dear to my heart.it connects many many happy hours and memmories of my family and growing up in that time for me. also I am a humour guy and a character guy and this well, the whole franchise does really excell on those two categories I think...there is so much heart and soul in these characters...and the animated series is simply incredible in and of its own, but also if you think about how they extended the matrial of only one film (at the time of the start of the cartoon)...
there are only two ghostbusters movies out there;) but dan aykroyd wrote two complete and different approaches for a third installment after the second movie (one in which the ghostbusters apparently all go to hell and it looks exactly like new york;)..) and a third approach which was more of a compromise towards what studios had on their wish list for another ghostbusters movie...
anyway...hope they'll make it.
