La France... sheesh.

*sheeshes at Fanfan and Cosmo*

Italy - France. Mmm... Damn, I feel stupid now. I didn't really count on them. France was mediocre for the past four years and I was pretty sure Italy were going to be eliminated by the Czechs, Ghana or the USA - as "the favourite who didn't even make it through the group stage" (like France or Argentina in 2002... or Poland). It seems I know next to nothing about football. But the whole "revenge for the Euro 2000 final" context looks pretty tasty to me. Italy have a wonderful defence line, they did not lose a goal so far, except for that own goal against the US. By contrast, France have Zidane, the eighth world wonder. Something tells me this guy is going to score the winning goal in the final. Damn him and his eternal awesomeness.

I'm amazed Italy has made it thus far, as opposed to Germany and Brazil, but they've stepped up. France is also a kick-butt team. My team, Honduras, never even made it to the Cup (like they did last time), so I'm not really rooting for anyone...although I did want to see Brazil and Germany square off! It's a tough call, but I'm going to cast my vote for the underdog, Italy, even though France has a better chance of winning...

I thought the Italians were favored to win since Brazil was knocked out. Of course the French were the ones who knocked them out. I really don't have a decision right now, I'm just sad that I won't be able to watch the match.

He is fun to watch.

I was also expecting a Brazil/Germany final and hoping for England/Germany.

I think at the beggining of the tourney Italy and France were both around the 9-1/14-1 range to win it all. Can't find the odds now.

The third place game should be great. GERMANY vs. PORTUGAL. I'll take the Polish led Germans!

Les Bleus vs. Azzurri...

Blue vs. Blue...neat huh?

Anyway...

My Father is Italian so naturally I'll be voting for the French.

I'm such a rebel.

What happened to Zidane? What a way to end a career. He was the king up until then.

The Italian player must have said something... :(

Wow, that was the easiest poll I ever voted in, especially as it's been several hours since the match.

Please! What could someone have said to cause someone who was about to go out on a HIGH point in his career to get red-carded for head-butting?

Oh well...

I have to say, the French Goalie was cute.

I'm glad, actually. About the result. So much for the spirit of contradiction.

A good point for Zidane : he won't appear in those ubiquitous god-awful stupid commercials anymore. :D
