Frank Darabont's THE MIST
I'm looking forward to seeing this movie tomorrow night. It looks like it will be a good scary film. IMO, there haven't been very many good scary films lately. I like the Stephen King novella and the audio dramatization from the 80s (just for fun, I once listened to a little bit of it on my iPod in a grocery store!), so I'm interested in this movie. Stephen King says that he likes Frank Darabont's adaptation of The Mist:

Same here! This one looks great. The trailer is truly creepy.
More films I am dying to see in the next couple months include "I Am Legend", "Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem" (which looks really hot), and "Cloverfield" or whatever it will be called.
I just saw an advance screening of Beowulf in IMAX 3D last Thursday. It rocked. Anyone else enjoy it?

When I read the novella, I kept thinking this is The Trollenberg Terror except it takes place in a grocery store rather than a hotel. True, he has a few other creepies besides the tentacles, but its the same story.
The Trollenberg Terror, starring Forest Tucker and Janet Munro, was released in the US as The Crawling Eye in the late 1950's. It's a pretty good flick and well worth a look.

I saw the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of it. In fact, it was the first episode on cable! Not a bad little sci-fi flick.Stan Sakai wrote:When I read the novella, I kept thinking this is The Trollenberg Terror except it takes place in a grocery store rather than a hotel. But I'll probably go see this one. If only because of the people involved.

Sorry, no Indy 4 trailer in front of The Mist.VikingSpawn wrote:Please let us know if the new Indy 4 trailer is attached to this one! (It wasn't in Beowulf..)
I liked the movie quite a bit. It's a good, tense horror movie a little bit reminiscent of George Romero and John Carpenter. I think it's one of the best Stephen King adaptations ever made. There's a neat little surprise right in the first scene for fans of Stephen King's Dark Tower series.
I actually have a DVD of The Crawling Eye/The Trollenberg Terror that I picked up for about $5 once, but I've never gotten around to watching it. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime soon. I have been on a bit of a monster movie kick (mostly kaijyu films), so maybe The Crawling Eye will fit in well with other stuff I've been watching.

I forgot to mention that there's a scene in The Mist where there's a brief shot of a rack of comic books. I didn't get a good look at any of them, guess I'll have to wait for the DVD.
