Happy Holidays!

Hello UYDers,

My family is celebrating Christmas eve tonight. Tomorrow will be Christmas. We celebrate early because we want to have our own "family Christmas." Every Christmas we spend with one set of grandparents and New Years with the others (alternating every year).

The girls made gingerbread cookies and left them out with milk for Santa. They also made him cards. The 5 year wrote:

"Dear Santa, I like you Santa Claus. I like all the presents you give me. Try the cookies. If you have time - first or second - eat the little Santa in the middle. I gave it to you. I got it from my teacher. I love Christmas, because of Jesus. And presents. Love, Cami"

The 8 year old wrote:

"What I love about Christmas is candles. I like Christmas music and Christmas carolers. I like making gifts for people. I like snow and making snow angels. I like nativity sets. I love my family. I really like Christmas. by Angela"

This is such a stressful but great time of year. We leave for beautiful Mt. Shasta tomorrow morning. We will be wrapping presents and packing all night long. A long drive awaits us. I hope we don't need snow chains. Us southern Californians don't drive well in snow. ;)

Happy holidays to you all! I wish you all wonderful times celebrating life, love, and the relationships with all the people you care about.

Peace, maka

PS
Thank you, Maka, for sharing your daughters' wonderful notes. Children definitely make the Christmas holiday so much more special.....

Have a good time all... I'll be wandering about all over the shop for the next 2-3 weeks but I'm sure I'll still pop my head in here to say hi every now and again ;)

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'll be staying at home and hanging out with some friends. Hopefully we'll get a lot of Wii Sports action in... :p

I hope everyone travels safely. ;)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everybody!

I'll celebrate with my family on 24th, but I'll be working at the ER on 25th & 26th (fortunately the early morning shift, which is more relaxed), so I selfishly hope everybody will be safe and healthy  .

After that we'll visit my wife's family until well after the turn of the years to avoid crowded trains;
Hmm, I only just realized that I'll be late reading issue 108 then.... :?
Oh well, it can't be helped, and there are worse things than that....

Take care, see you all in 2008!!

No one's mentioned it yet so I don't know how many were sent and if they've made it to their destinations...

But thanks (again) for the great Usagi Xmas card Steve... right at the death here, arrived today :)

Merry Christmas ( Happy Solstice, Hanukka and everything else )everybody ! We are having our typical quiet Morna and Gary at home Christmas. Acknowleged Solstice Saturday night...and if you're into sky watching Mars is visually the biggest it will be in many years RIGHT NOW! It's all pink and there's a gigantic full moon too.

I hear Gary has just popped a bottle of bubbly and we will have our traditional cheese fondue and open presents. Stockings tomorrow morning followed by the big Christmas breakfast - lambchops and Christmas potatoes etc! Turkey on boxing day. Here's our tree this year:

I have heard that at least three cards have arrived in time. :D Very surprised (and happy) that Alex and Mayhem received their cards in time.

Anyone interested in being added to my Usagi Yojimbo Dojo Christmas Card Mailing List, feel free to PM me a mailing address (and name) and I will add you to the list for next year.

Thank you so much Steve for the card !! that is in good position in my living room with the card of last year !

Your hat (does "bonnet" exist in english ?) is so cool Morna-San, did you make it ?

Yep, "bonnet" is one of many French words to make the transition across centuries ago... indeed here in the UK it also refers to the hood of the car (where the engine is).

Oh and I meant to say earlier Steve. The card looks great! If you have any extras I'd love to have one. If it's no trouble and all! :)
