Art vs Art Competition

Hey all, I wanted to make you aware of a VERY unique art competition I just entered. It might just might be coming to an area near you. Next year it's not just the Midwest, but LA and New York.

Go to:

http://www.artvsart.com to check it out.

Anyway, I entered a painted version of my Kappa picture (see Usagi Fan Art/Fiction), and I need all the votes I can muster to get to the final round. Winning prize is $3000 which means I could get a real drafting table or hit up an actual convention and meet Mr Sakai!! (I'll use the rest to take those who voted out for drinks!)

Here's how you can help:

Go to www.artvsart.com
Click on the "Indianapolis" link.
A gallery should pop up
Find my painting (It's a Kappa being attacked my tentacles)
Click "Vote" and enter your email
You should get a confirmation email that you need to answer, and that's that!!

No, you won't be added to any mailing list or anything.

In any case, I thought if there was a supportive community dedicated to voting for paintings of Kappa it would be this one!

Thanks for the support!!!

I voted. I like that he's carrying a bunch of cucumbers.

Voted; Although I found it hard to decide; some others are really looking good, too...

Ah, and I had to look at the color version in "Fan art and fiction" to actually know what to look for.

But of course I could not let a fellow Dojo member down  .

Ha ha!! Many thanks for not "letting me down"!!

But I would be remiss if I didn't let you know that you can vote for any THREE paintings. While I appreciate your votes, please vote for who you think is best.

One of my favorites is #335, the one that looks like an exploding green moon. I also sat next to the girl who was painting #305 which is the sea turtle flying through space.

Everyone's ideas were so creative and unique that I was constantly walking around to stretch and see what everyone else was painting.

Well, I've had a look at the other pictures and voted for all four regions.

Btw, has there been an actuall theme the artists should have had in mind while painting? I for one couldn't see much of a connection between them...(one reason it was so hard to decide which painting to vote for)

And while were at it: were all these paintings done at one time in one place, all artists working side by side, with a time limit??

Just curious...

I added another vote. It took me a minute to find your painting (it's at the bottom right of the second page).

Thanks!

The pictures display randomly each time you open the gallery so it does take a bit to find them consistently.
