Where will you go with one or two days of free time and a car ? point reyes, muir woods, half moon bay...

If it's your first time here, I say you should hit all the landmarks in San Franciso like Coit Tower, Crookedest street, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square to get some Ice Cream and Golden Gate Bridge. You can see it in that order too so you won't be hopping all over the area. It would be nice to experience the cable car as well.
If you have been here before then all the other places you mentioned are very good scenic outings for you.

I haven't been to SF in a fairly long time, but I remember that one place I enjoyed was Chinatown. I also took the ferry ride over to Alcatraz, which was pretty interesting. I didn't do it, but I think there's a tour that takes you to places where Alfred Hitchcock shot Vertigo, which would be pretty cool.
I'd love to go back sometime since it's one of my favorite cities.

in fact we'll spend 2 days in the city, and there is a lot to do and see (Alcatraz is already planned). But we wanted to spend two days to see nature and to rent a car. This is why i asked, because Yosemite looks to far with a car, Stan told me to make a walk in Muir woods, and i wanted to know if there was another great places not too far from the city.

If you are limited for time and want nature, I suggest Muir Woods.
Point Reyes is lovely but it's more of a drive up there, Muir Woods would leave you some time for more exploring things close to San Francisco.
And provide you a wonderful west coast giant tree experience.

Seeing the Redwood trees is pretty amazing. They are beautiful.
How about renting bicycle and biking through the Presidio and Golden Gate Park? They give maps at the bike rental places.
