Private Snafu was a character created by Warner Bros during World War II for the purpose of educating Army personnel on how NOT to be a good soldier.

While people wouldn't consider the swearing and brief mild nudity in the cartoons to be offensive now, the racial and national stereotyping of the then-enemy nations is sure to raise a few eyebrows. All in all, funny but not for children.

You can find a few of these on the Looney Tunes DVD sets. I think that some of the big-name Looney Tunes directors like Bob Clampett and Frank Tashlin worked on them. Dr. Seuss even wrote the script for one of the Private Snafu cartoons.

There are also some on the "Cartoons for Victory" DVD.
