Anyone here looking forward to the movie adaptation of Kick A$$ that's coming out in a couple of months? I haven't read the comic book, but it looks fun from the trailers:

OOHHHH the sensors and super conservative save the children groups are going to have fun with this!

Not a fan of Mark Millar, but I may have to go read this book now.

Like nothing else man. I've got the comic series and it is superb. I don't collect a whole lot of books, but this one is worth it. I highly recommend you pick it up. Only 8 issues I think and it completes it's arc.

Initially the previews looked fairly bad, but when they released the Red Band and then the one of Big Daddy shooting Hit Girl in the chest I started getting excited.

After reading the comic, to me, it looks like the movie might end up being better. I mean, the book is good, but I wasn't really a fan. "Wanted" sort of left a bad taste in my mouth, I guess.

It's also sort of odd because they had a script for it in May of '08 when the book had just started its run that February.

We'll just have to see in April.

I just picked up the graphic novel of it. Not bad so far, but I always am leery with Millar's work, since Civil War and Wanted.

Just finished the book last night. I liked it, though the ending was a little disappointing. I still get the vibe, even in this comic, Millar is poking fun at comic fans and super hero comics in general. I would say more, but I do not want to risk spoiling the comic for others. Either way I enjoyed the story. I am interested in seeing what the next arc will be.

Caught a sneak preview of Kick A$$ last night and loved it. Here's my full (spoiler-free) review:

Incidentally, though I've never read the comic, based on Wikipedia's summary, the movie ends very differently.

I saw this last night. I thought it was pretty entertaining even if it bugged me a little that this movie ultimately ends up sort of becoming the thing that it starts out parodying.

I kept an eye out for Usagi Yojimbo stuff during the scenes in the comic book store, but I didn't see any. However, I did enjoy seeing the poster for Jeffrey Brown's Incredible Change-Bots since I met him about a year ago and got him to sign and draw in my copy of the book.

It was also kind of amusing to see Mike Mignola and Duncan Fegredo get such a prominent shout-out in one scene:
