My first exposure to Steve Rude is when I picked up a copy of Nexus that had a guest appearance by Badger (one of the most under-rated characters in comics). I was really impressed and became a fan ever since.

It's horrible that a great comic creator would fall on financial hardships. I guess it's sad when anybody does.

I hope things work out for him and his family.
