Do you think Nickelodeon will ever license the turtles out for new comics to be created?
It would be a shame for them to not exist in the medium they were created in.

I believe Mirage retained the option to produce up to 18 TMNT comics a year.

I'd love for all of the TMNT material to be reprinted phonebook-style, like Cerebus.
Oh, and there's been rumors abound that IDW is interested in doing TMNT comics - but they might be only rumors.

what the hell is this??the second time I fell for these posts and landed in a world full of commercials...;(
but I'd loved to see tmnt go on in style, too...
as to the phone books, mirage did publish a giant phone book last year called 'tmnt vol 1' and it collects all the original first 11 issues(the eastman and lard run), plus each individual turtle's 'micro issue mini series' as well as the never before reprinted 'fugitoid' comic leading up to tmnt issue 5's events...so you get a lot and all in their original black and white outfit for very little price and the paper is even great...
I also wished they could've gone on in this style collecting at least the whole 'city at war' story act which concluded all of volume one...

IDW just announced that they will be publishing new TMNT stories, starting this summer. They had approached me about doing something for this new series, and I won't be doing anything on a regular basis but I did agree to maybe a one-shot or something else very finite.
I've also been asked to do something for another of their new series, which has not been announced.

Here is a link to article on IDW's website
http://www.idwpublishing.com/news/article/1677/.
And here is a quote from an interview on comicbookresources.com
"The new series will not continue the "Tales of TMNT" series Mirage published, Dunbier said, but will be based on the original comics. "We'll be doing all new stuff. But we'll also be doing collections of the old material. We'll be doing a beautiful hardcover collection of the first 11 issues, one giant hardcover volume, over 400 pages of material."
Super Excited

It had me until the word "colour". I feel TMNT should stay in b/w. C'est la vie. I'll probably still check it out and if I like it, buy it...

Sounds great that the Turtles continue on. What really stinks is that Nickelodeon hacked off so much content from the TMNT website. They had all the archived pictures of all the old toys, etc. Horrible...

yeah, I also share a tear whenever I see that they threw all the toy info and pictures away....that brought back so many good memories for me;:)....

hi guys!...
I spent a lot of time (at least for my internet spending time..) in the last two night doing research on some tmnt stuff and you probably know one or another thing that is to come but I thaught I'd share with you my results:
....so idw is bringing the four brothers and their mentor splinter to a monthly comic book track, back on board is kevin eastman(no matter how often I read or write it it still blows me away..

...)
accompanying this monthly series is a hc collection of the first seven issues plus the raphael one shot(featuring the first apearance of casey jones), yes hard cover format...
don't have the link to it handy but the guys at idw are planning to release more of the classic issues in hard cover books...they were hinted to the fact that the fan favourite 'city at war' story arch has never been collected to this day which and they might just change that(this interview was posted on ninjapizza.com...)
also nickelodeon brings the turtles back with their new cgi animated series in 2012, this show will be supported by a huge toy line by playmates toys, off course...
so last months nickelodeon invited a number of various tmnt fans from accross the u.s. to their own animation studios for the 'nickelodeon tmnt fan preview event' where a 25 minute pilot preview of what the show might look like was shown to this exclusive audience and later reviewed...that day the lucky fans were also treated to take a look at the first wave figures of the new toy line and although with still a little more than a full year away from release date these 'have potential to be the ultimate tmnt figures' according to, again, ninjapizza.com....
so things are rolling, oh yeah I also read that the first draft of the new tmnt live action movie could't score and therefore new writers were hired.although I miss their names the gentlemen are said to have been the writers of iron man....
so, there is a lot going on and the turtles are waiting to run lose on the world again.I am looking forward to it.
