Just use Admiral Thrawn for the villain in episode VII, and I'm there.

Amazingly enough, I'm actually kind of excited about the idea of a new Star Wars trilogy now:

I think Brad Bird would probably be a good choice to direct Episode VII. I think the idea of Pixar people working on a Star Wars movie is kind of cool (I would LOVE it if Brave co-writer and former Lucasarts employee Steve Purcell got to contribute to the script, especially since he did a funny Star Wars-themed Sam & Max comic for the old Lucasarts newsletter years ago).

Of course, as one person pointed out, seeing a Star Wars movie without the 20th Century Fox fanfare at the beginning is going to feel a bit odd.

i can't picture a well known director wanting to take on this movie. i mean it's a legit STAR WARS film to follow the legacy before it for crying out loud. if they screw it up it could easily kill their careers. like, "oh, there's so and so. oh yeah, he's the guy who directed that horrible new star wars movie. quick lets leave to get some coffee before he sees us."
