I somehow hadn't heard a thing about this until Faith Erin Hicks mentioned it on Twitter:

I heard about it on publisher weekly's More To Come podcast where they interviewed Jeff. He said he had created the first couple of issues (if I remember correctly about 2 or 3 months of on-line content) already. It is a challenge to himself to keep up with schedule. is it online finally?I have gotten the complete bone volume twice this year (as a surprise for my new girlfriend who saw some single issues of bone at my home and fell in love with it...the other one was of course for ME;)..) and also the complete rasl and luckily found out about tüki...unfortunatelly every time I went to boneville though it was under construction and the content soon to come..

here is what I gathered of information on it a few weeks ago:
-it is a long adventure(similar to the format of bone)
-it is colored this time(I think done by jeff himself)
-it will be published as a free web comic starting in november 2013.a new page would be uploaded every work day of the week.
-this would continue for some weeks until the 'season'( he called it, understand this like 'chapter') is over, then there would be a short break(perhaps 5 weeks) and then the new season would be published the same way..
-he guessed in that interview I read that it was very possible that down the line when there is already enough material of tüki online that these would see physical copies(I think tdp format)

by the way, I have bought and watched the documentary 'the cartoonist:bone and the changing of the comic book scene'(to the effect of that title;)..) and amused shouted out towards the tv screen 'hey, there is sensei!!!'...:=) stan was travelling with jeff and linda etc in 95 or something;)and they had nice 'rock' poles with sakai and usagi written all over them;)...really nice time probably!one can only imagine what fun they must have had on the road;)

Just checked Tuki out last night. Looks like something I'll enjoy.

I like Jeff Smith's work. Bone is one of my all-time favorites - right up there with Usagi Yojimbo. As much as I like Jeff, I couldn't get into Rasl and had to pass on it.... looks like Tuki will bring Jeff's story telling back into my life.

Guess I'm not the only one then, I checked RASL out from the library recently, and somehow it never quite "clicked" with me even though I liked Bone a lot. So far, Tuki looks like it's more my thing.

I gave my daughter the RASL book this morning. She read the whole thing in one sitting. Her review, "Creepy and pointless, but well written." :LOL

I also read rasl and I really liked it as well...it was very exciting in my oppinion.I just could argue that I wanted to find out more about the lizard man...but maybe thats the beauty of it..

what was the reason you two couldn't get excited about rasl specifically?you didn't name any reason for it, just curious.
rasl, much like bone(VERY much even) and now tüki all play in very deep truths about our life in the cosmos believe it or not.you should check out 'citizens hearing on disclosure 2013' if you missed it at the national press club in washington this year in april.or follow dr steven greer's witness testimony on siriusdisclosure.com to learn about all these truths that at first may sound stranger than any fiction but then, aw you'll see;)...
anyway, I follow tüki now as well(forgot about it after so many days in november of checking if it had already started or not..) and I am enjoying it so far...cant wait to see where this is all taking us all again;)

No real rational reason, it just never quite "clicked" with me somehow. I didn't hate it by any means, it just didn't appeal to me like Bone did.

Same thing for me. I thumbed through the first few issues... subjects and settings just didn't seem to click with me, so I just didn't bother with it.

I see...I am just now re-reading my rasl book because next week I am going to pass it onward as a present for my brother.we don't spend as much time together these days as we used to with work, college and his band and my comics work so I hope he'll find it interesting.
I know he is very keen on so called fringe science and nikola tesla so I can't wait to see his reaction to it;)
how do you guys like tuki then so far?I myself have a little catching up to do with tüki, because I always forget about it and then remember with a smile on my face when Im in bed or so...
bone has absolute great cartooning in it I think and is one hell of a ride to read through.I am glad I checked out bone all these years ago and now have the complete book at home;)

I'm enjoying Tuki so far. Jeff Smith's notes are interesting. One kind of funny thing is that it took me a moment to adjust to reading a comic from left-to-right since I've been reading a lot of unflipped right-to-left manga recently.
