Essemtially, it's a horror franchise detailing people discovering the existence of an interdimebsional graverobber labeled "The Tall Man". It's a pretty wild series running more on weirding you the hell out and being somewhat unpredictable than making a whole lot of sense.

I enjoy the sequels, but that first Phantasm movie is, in my opinion, a real masterpiece. It's a testament to how creative you can get when you have no money and you're making a movie largely on the weekends with people you know. What an inspiration!
