Guardians of the Galaxy

Post by Jet_Jaguar »

Anyone here seen this yet? I'm a bit skeptical that it's the best sci-fi movie since the first Star Wars as some people have said, but it looks very entertaining.

I saw this today and thought that it was great fun. Probably not the best sci-fi movie since the first Star Wars (of course, that depends on what you mean by a "sci-fi movie"), but if anyone wanted to call it the best space opera of the past 35-odd years, I wouldn't be too inclined to argue with them right now.

Oh yeah, don't forget to stay until after the end credits, there's a rather surprising cameo appearance that I won't spoil...

I loved all the humour in this movie, it was rather unexpected for me. It was great to laugh so often, plus all the great music was a nice touch. Definately a great movie to see in cinemas.

I managed to sneak in a viewing on Thursday night and had a great time. Lots of humor, action, and heart. For a movie that introduces five new heroes, I thought they did a decent job of balancing the time spent on each character, though I'm also looking forward to a bit more development of the supporting (non-Star Lord) heroes in the sequel.

James Gunn, the director, did a great job. I'm also a fan of his earlier movies Slither and Super, so wasn't too surprised that he managed to make Guardians such an entertaining movie. Hopefully Rocket gets his own spin-off film, as I think they could have a lot of fun with his character.
