The kids are watching this this weekend. The Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles has some of the original stop motion models and sets set up to see. And they have hired staff who can answer any questions you have. Best of all it in the free section of the museum. Available until August 30th, I think. I want to see this movie too. Peace, maka

I'm planning on seeing this next week. Perhaps I'll make the trip over to the museum to check out the exhibit as well.

I watched Kubo last night with my family (their second time seeing it). It was beautiful. It took 5 years to create this film. The sets are amazing. The stop motion sea that opens the movie is a "how the heck did they do that in stop motion?" moment. The sets are huge and beautiful. And the stop motion is amazing. I highly recommend seeing this film in the theater. I didn't see it in 3D, so I can't comment on that. But the 2D experience was beautiful. And the story is fun too. Peace, maka

I saw it in 3D. This is exactly the kind of film that 3D is made for, not that seeing it in 2D is any less enjoyable though. I also found the visuals incredibly striking. It's certainly worth watching in the theater.

Super! REALLY hope it comes through the local theatre here. I'll keep my eyes open for it.
